Listening to this made me realize how much of a void there is in hip hop. A regular guy spitting regular everyday thoughts from a grown man perspective. Sounds simple but its cringe worthy when I hear cats 40 years old talking about flipping keys..... Guru always kept it relatable. Preem put work in.
I’m a working stiff. I never found the street life alluring. I wasn’t raised in the projects.

I do drive a Tesla. I contemplate seriously about being a vegetarian. And I have thing for saving rates globally.

The album is dope as fukk and it’s making me both want more and sad that Guru is gone and Gang Starr is finished. Hearing this breathed new life into hip hop for me. I really hope Preme can salvage whatever he has left over from the rescue of Guru’s vocals from Solar as well as wherever else he had.

Preme if you are reading this, I think you need to do a full clip 2 with the top classics, a few from the owners, Battle, the unreleased that you have, a few from One of the best yet and one or two all new ones.

No doubt. Here’s a few others from that Full Clip to Ownerz era that get overlooked

Pee and Hav hated each other, the re hashed Mobb shyt gon taste like corked wine when it gets released imo.
For what it’s worth their final album together wasn’t bad at all. It’s one of their better post Murda Muzik releases.

But honestly I doubt we’ll get much Mobb. I’ve talked a fair amount with P’a engineer and most of the stuff they want to release is solo material that he was working on with producers like Alchemist, KNXLEDGE, Budgie, etc.

HOLY shyt these beats! This is the best I've heard from premo in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG TIME. These have to be some old ass beats he saved because he don't get anywhere near as tough nowadays. Goodness.
When Preem isn’t stuck in the confines of sampling on artist for the PRhyme albums he still can get busy.

Also gotta realize Preem doesn’t make beats when he’s not explicitly working on a project. So he’s not necessarily trying to sharpen his skills anymore or expand creatively. I’m not saying that as a dig. I understand it and even respect it on some level.

These were all released in the past couple years and I think are very solid.

"Bless the mic" is one of the best Preemo beats in a long time! I still can't get over how dark and banging it is :wow:

Number 1, it was too short and 2, Nas should've been on that, no question he would've ripped this to shreds :blessed:

And the crazy thing about it is that it's the first joint he worked on for this album :dwillhuh:

and that's cuz i love PRhyme 2 :hubie:

but BLESS THE MIC though, :whew:

This feels a lot more organic than most posthumous albums. Big props to Preem on that. Gonna stay in rotation heavy. Anyone know if they're dropping merchandise specifically for this album? (saw some links to regular gang starr stuff earlier in the thread)
