Sounds like Preme finally came out of the fog of the last days of Guru's physical being on this planet, and got back in his Gang Starr bag.

For those who didn't know, Preme definitely used to personally craft specific beats for artists for sale, but he always kept his best beats (his opinion at the time) for Gang Starr records. He knew Guru's pitch and what worked with his voice and types of lyrics. They were a great team together. I hope he brings in Big Shug, Freddie Foxx, Lil Dap, and Jeru in along for the ride in the studio to give us that true Gang Starr feeling

With Preme clear-headed and inspired again, we might really get that elusive 90s-styled hop hop classic this year from Gang Starr. Just like in the 90s, full album unheard, but take my money now. I'm in.

I wish I had Preme’s ear on this one. I would have him make this a great project with tons of bonuses.

-First off, I would not put guest rappers On a track with guru spitting tribute/homage style rhymes about him. Instead, I’d have them spittin more on topic of the song concept as if they were really giving in the studio together.

-I’d save any tribute style verses for a bonus track about guru.

-i’d definitely make one track a gang starr foundation posse track with dap, nutcracker, shug and Jeru.

-As another bonus, i would have preme supply new beats to a couple of the groups lesser known or dare I say less favorite deep cuts.

-there has got to be some alternate versions or takes of some of their tracks. I’d re-release those or maybe even do a re-mix for those.

-I’d take some of guru’s relevant interviews and out them over premium beats.

-id add and officially release unreleased tracks like I’m not Superman and The couple others I’ve heard.

It sure what preme is going to do but I would surely like to see something on par with these ideas.

At least have one posse cut with Jeru, Afu, Group Home, MOP and Shug.

None of us want features unless it's gang starr family.

It definitely aged well. I think it had 3 things going against it. Maybe 4.

1. It had been half a decade since Moment of Truth and people had high expectations
2. It wasn't as dope as Moment of Truth which let people down
3. There was a slight change in Preem's sound
4. Certain songs seemed like watered down versions of previous songs that were on Moment of Truth (Capture, Who Got Guns, and Eulogy).

#3 is interesting because it wasn't a drastic change in sound, and maybe some of it was the mix, but I just remember the album sounding a little bit less warm, and not as filled out and thick as Moment of Truth. Preem also used some more beats on there with more totally open spaces in them. I think all of this came together at the same time, and people just felt a little bit let down by it.

But I think the years have been kind to this album, and listening to it now with the expectations stripped away, and not caring if Capture wasn't as dope as Militia or if Eulogy wasn't as dope as In Memory Of...it's still a great album. I like it a lot and I think I'll listen to it today.
These are all pretty much spot on with why I wasn't as big on that album back then. I'm gonna revisit it probably have a totally different opinion on it now. Even playing some of the songs from the album that have been posted in this thread I'm hearing now like I don't remember them from back then and realizing they're pretty fukking dope.
