Is it Guru in the vocals or not?
I bought The Owner back in 2003 with no knowledge of Gang Starr just for the song "Right Where U Stand".
I was hypnotized and still listen to the album 16 f**** year later with the same spark.:ohhh::whew:
100% Guru is on this. Gang Starr is Guru and DJ Premier. No Guru = no Gang Starr.

I wish premo could have found more guru verses because at some points it seems more like featuring guru.

That said it's probably the best posthumous album ever. Premier did an amazing job putting every thing together and it really showed. Puffy wishes he could put together a biggie album that sounds this good.

Now we just need that Nas/Premo album.

I'm still in awe. I was pumped for the Royce album and realized Primo lost it, very sad day. Heard about this and figured id check it out whatever. Wasn't too excited based of the phryme albums. Heard the jcole song and fell in love. Primo hasnt lost it, primo is back, primo is goat. He went in on these.

I've been watching all the interviews and listening closely to premo and what he is saying about the vocals he got from solaar. I've learned that preme is very secretive about his gang starr projects and every time he's asked about it he says he just got 30 and how some are not to the quality that he would like them to be. he believes solaar has more. Sadly he has never inferred that he had enough for another project but he did say he had materiel to put a guru verse as a feature somewhere... but know that he wanted to secretly drop this project, could he be holding back some material for another, future gang starr project? I have mentioned some of this before but there is an article out there that says that preme had some 5-10 guru vocal tracks way back in like 2010. I am willing to bet preme has something else up his sleeve in a few years. He always mentions that he has had a camera crew filming for years including the making of this current album. There is even a bonus cd from the owners album (someone up that or post a link) that showed guru talking about making that project. I wouldn't be surprised if Premiere has one more big project planned here in the next 1-3 years.
