I did watch the clip. Its well known that players from Wilt's era said he would average 70 points in the 90's and 00's. You've been proven wrong time and time again.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

its well known? well known to who? you just making shyt up now

that's not what #1pick said... he said the 90s... so now you tryna switch the argument for him by including the 00s> AHAHAHAHAHAHA.

wheres this 'a lot of people think wilt could average 70 ppg IN THE 90S' proof ... where is it?

you really think A LOT of people from his era would agree with him avg 70 points per game in the 90s ... when 'some' of the greatest centers ever robinson, shaq, hakeem, ewing, zo couldn't even average HALF of 70..

if it's well known/common knowledge like you're alluding to,,, surely you'll have no problem bringing up some examples of folk mirroring his statements.

:pachaha:

Wilt said the same thing about the 80's players that the 80's and 90's players are saying about today's NBA players.

this is a PRIME example of why you shouldn't fight other people's battles for them. i understand his point of how older folk like to exaggerate shyt but that doesn't give cause for him to group A LOT of them into believing ONE player's delusions of his own playing ability. #1pick is basically guilty of what he's proclaiming players of yesteryear do - exaggerating the truth.

Defensive schemes are better but there are no really great defenders. The best shotblockers don't go up with you (because they are scared to be dunked on) and they only do weakside blocks. Come on now, they play a zone. Zones are what you play in elementary school up to college, not the pros. You're not supposed to be able to play a zone against pros anyway, because everyone is supposed to be able to knock down the shot. Skill will always trump athleticism. On the perimeter, where are the GPs, Derek Harpers, EJ, Mookie Blaylock, MJ, Pippen, Mad Max? Its just too easy to get past your man in today's game.

I do agree that it would be harder. A lot of people don't understand that the handcheck hinders your first step. It would take more effort than just using your athleticism to blow past someone. You have to be able to have that pull up once you get to your spot. Why do all guards today constantly drive into the lane, verses driving then the quick pull-up from 15'?

:smh: Some of you kats in here are talking out of your minds. Iverson shredded defenders who relied on handchecking to stop him. You can't use handchecking on a quick athletic player with handles because that is not going to hinder them from going anywhere they want. Did you not watch the games when young Kobe, Iverson, and Tim Hardaway used to cross up nikkas on their way to the hoops ?

Defensive schemes are better now than they ever were.

The players in this era are stronger, quicker, faster, bigger and more athletic.

Lebron would dominate in any era. Old school players love to say their era was better. Which we all know is BS. Most of the players from the 70's and 80's wouldn't even make it in today's league.

Based on heart and grit. The players of yesteryear would give present players problems. If we scaled older players to present time, it would be no contest. The players today are charmin soft. Lebron James is a titan physically but inside he's all creampuff.

This comment is about as futile as GPs....Its pointless to compare eras esp talkin about players being able to playing in different eras...evolution of the game and players makes that a lame argument...

I don't think there is any dispute that the players used to be way tougher. You can't present me with any evidence of otherwise.

With that knowledge. Lebron is easy to rattle.

He tried getting guys though, none of them wanted to go to shytty Cleveland
they surrounded him with regular season niqqas whose heart pumped kool aid
and whose games would often play Houdini not just in whole games but in whole series in the playoffs.

These old timers picked the wrong dude to hate on. LeBron playing in the 90's would be scary for the opposition
