Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
Ours went up 10 cents overnight. This shyt is getting ridiculous. There needs to be a boycott day or something. Where nobody goes to work, school, pumps gas or nothing to make these fukks understand that we've had enough.

:comeon:

commuter rails take people from the suburbs to the city. you're making a lot of excuses not to take public transportation. you know that public transportation infrastructure is heavily invested in at the moment, precisely because the government is making an effort to wean people off of vehicular dependency.

I live in Atlanta and in some suburban areas (read: mainly honky) they passed legislation preventing MARTA (the public transpo) from setting up rails in that area/county. Sohh if live in one of these areas, PT is indeed not an option.

that accomplishes nothing. so if everyone boycotted a day, they'd just be back tomorrow.

if you wanna do something, stop consuming so much. you send a message to big businesses with your dollars.

My next car is gonna be a hybrid. :jawalrus:

Again, you're spending more on purchase price just to save a few hundred a year for something that depreciates in value. It's not really a value.

Say you pay $5000 more for a hybrid and you save 500 a year in gas. you'll recoup your costs in 10 years LMFAO!!

They are straight up trying to wipe away the middle class in this country. Funny how everything is going up from gas, to energy to food but wages are stagnant as fukk.

add to the fact that this segment of people is the most taxed - too rich to be poor and too poor to be rich (and have all those loopholes and investments) - it's hard as fukk to keep up. and don't live in an expensive metro area, it's all bad out here...

jobs need to man the fukk up and start making a mass move telecommuting/working from home. commuting is the real killer. i could deal with $4.20 a gallon if that lasts 7-10 days due to me just scooting around town, but when you have a 35 mile commute each way...gtfoh. in fact, my manager had the nerve to imply that i should drive to work to provide more flexibility for evening meetings - i gave him the :rudy: yall gonna pay for gas and tolls? no? then :stfu:

nikkas exposing themselves again. my car gets like 21 or 22 mpg I notice. I'm not gonna get rid of a paid off car to get some shyt that gets 30-35mpg. that's retarded.

couldn't agree more. that's one thing I gotta give to my current boss. he came in here and implemented the work from home policy and its been working. we can only do one day at home, which is fine. and its good, cuz I work 25 mi each way and another cat on my team is commuting like 75 mi each way. it definitely helps. and his commute is barely longer than mine cuz I gotta go thru the hellish rush hour traffic we got here.

also, a lotta jobs forget that by letting one work from home, u actually get more productivity. that time I spend on commuting, I am now available to work instead of driving.

Yeah it doesn't make sense to me either. The gas savings aren't significant enough to justify the higher purchase price. I think you also get a tax deduction but that's not a lot either and it's only ONCE per year.

that and you just get an overall happier employee. the few times i've driven to work for an entire week, i'm wound up and bent outta shape by wednesday, taking away one day of commuting just makes you approach your job with a better disposition....two days and i'd be :takedat:

So everyone boycotting the use and purchase of oil products for one day would not send a message to big business?? :usure:

For one day? No.

Especially when you're just going to turn around and spend twice as much tomorrow because you missed a day. Now a week or more...

yup. my work week getting seperated into two halves is one of the best things I like about my job. cuz now my week works like this Mon, Tue/Thu, Fri with me being at the crib on wednesday. so I can stay up late on tuesday night if I want and sleep in wed morning while working in my jogging pants and not taking a shower.

plus the work weeks fly by when a monday is essentially a thursday and a tuesday is a friday in my mind. I'd hate to go back to being in the office 5 days a week. thats for the birds.
