In their defense they have the luxury of having 45% of the vote guaranteed regardless because their constituents don’t care when they starve them.
That maybe the case but this is another example of democrats just doing perform based politics. Meanwhile, the gop will continue taking a sledge hammer to society

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut), who also sits on the Senate’s health committee, called Trump’s idea “nonsensical.”

“Is he suggesting eliminating health insurance and giving people a few thousand dollars instead? And then when they get a cancer diagnosis they just go bankrupt? He is so unserious,” Murphy wrote on X. “That’s why we are shut down and Americans know it.”

Trump is such an unserious person. Get rid of Obamacare subsidies and give people $2,000 checks instead :mjlol:

The problems at airports come after an emergency order by the Federal Aviation Administration to reduce the number of flights to cut strain on the country’s air traffic controllers, most of whom are working mandatory overtime six days a week during the shutdown without pay.

Nasty fukking work. Nasty work :picard:

Yeah, not going to do that. We told Progressives not to allow a madman into office, and they did it anyway.

It was prime stupidity, and I'm going to bring it up at every opportunity.

You can type the bolded because you're well off. What happens to poor people when Thanksgiving/Christmas rolls around, and they can't eat?
Exactly which progressives allowed a madman in office? If the DNC cared about people as a whole and pushed through acrual meaningful reforms they'd never lose. It's like they're scared of losing the republican approval and don't want to even push the envelope. Meanwhile, the gop is a literal mafia gang stacking the courts and targeting opponents

They had so much leverage too. Polls going there way, a great election night, MAGA infighting and a righteous cause to feed people and provide them with healthcare.

The healthcare piece was the biggest leverage point that they had because ACA cuts across all socioeconomic demographics.
This is like the Luka to LA trade. Wtf are they doing?!?

People can't go more than 2 paychecks without shyt getting dicey but they want other people (not them, other people) to go without checks or food stamps from now until February :mjlol:
You don't have to have one or the other. You can have both. Also people can find jobs even if they don’t want them..what's the difference when you can't afford food or your insurance because it costs too much? Dems had a grand slam lined up.and in pure democratic establishment form struck out.

got a call for three nines
They let him pocket rescission foreign aid. But there’s a whole lot of things still frozen.

So the arbiter on what’s left that will be the courts or omb? If it’s left up to Congress they’ll keep kicking the can down the road…

Maybe more dem aligned policy needs to settled through the courts like republicans have done. Doesn’t seem like there has been a big appetite for that lately though or is it a foregone conclusion they’ll lose or just do more damage?
