I always hear that rappers, the ones who rap about being in the streets, slanging to get by...say they chose music to get away from all that. Who wants to sign to a label where you get treated like boot camp and the threat of being violated while in the studio is always present?
No, I meant that had Suge not got encouraged the worst aspects of Pac's persona, and got his artist so heavily involved with his hood, Pac wouldn't have stepped to Orlando. Didn't Suge also tell Pac to take off his vest?
And without the fukkery Pac would still be alive.
Suge being a gangster got Dre out of the contract with Ruthless, but Suge being a gangster also got Dre robbed of his share of Deathrow Records, got him assaulted at the Source Awards, got the whole "Dre is gay" rumor started", and ultimately Suge being gangster is what led to his own current predicament.
If you're the head of a record label, you don't allow your #1 artist to associate with members of your own gang, you don't bring that kind of environment around your artists in general. If there's a war between MOB and SSC why the fukk would you have MOB Pirus around your artist? You hire private security and that's it.
It doesn't excuse it but by these guys flaunting their association, their connections, it helps draw too much unwanted attention, from rivals, from law enforcement.
Don't get me wrong though, that doesn't excuse the white record execs and corporations who gladly profit from all of this. I'm just saying maybe the way Suge carried himself and went out of his way to promote that gangster image is why he lost his label and found himself in prison, while Puffy plays down any of his dirty dealings when dealing with certain outlets.
So get mad at CEOs acting gangster but be happy when a record label acts gangster.
Naw, they never gave a shyt. As long as they make money they're happy. I didn't see Suge putting out the addresses of these white CEOs on his Too Gangster for TV DVD. I didn't see Suge hiring people to sock out white record execs or CEOs. He didn't try to get his friends out that life, because he didn't want to get out himself. His whole time being in charge at Deathrow was used to rep Mob Piru, instead of using his position and finances to STOP promoting that bullshyt.
Artist may not want to sign to a label that's like bootcamp, but some artist need bootcamp,I cant deny the classic results and the output

Far as Pac it doesn't seem like he was doing anything he didn't want to do,if by encouraging him you mean Suge was being himself and laughing at the fukkery and doing nothing to stop it?I buy that.
Most of this stuff you blame Suge for is equally Puffys fault if not more,I think your kindve making my point....the way people look at Suge and Puff, only difference is PR and image consultants....SUge bought his homies around Pac,Puff had to PAY gang members for security,to put bountys on chains, allegedly put a hit out,and yes he also bought these nikkas around his artist for security....He could've got caught up on March 9th easily and been the dumb one who fukked up by bringing gangsters around

And they mustve cared if they were having meetings about Suge, beefing up security and putting gangsters on they own payrolls out of fear of what Suge might do according to Geraldo....Sure they still weren't as vulnerable as the artist, but just the fact Suges unpredictability worried them somewhat is good enough for me.
Its only right they be worried somewhat just like these artist have to be,in part due to an environment they encourage and help foster...If you gon profit from it,Im just saying I'm glad they weren't completely on the sidelines anymore while SUge was there. For once they felt like they number could get called,no more of that watching from the skybox shyt

I hope Suge gave them this speech as he was asked to leave the building

Well just have to agree to disagree.
