The marriage between the two appeared to come to a spectacular end on Friday when the 30-year-old world champion boxer took to Twitter to declare he would divorce his wife.

However, a divorce for the sportsman could prove to be a costly one as Faryal declared last December that the pre-nup she had signed before their wedding had since been destroyed.

Amir and Faryal, 26, tied-the-knot in May 2013 with a lavish ceremony in New York City in the company of a reported 1,000 guests.

However in an interview with the Daily Mail last year, Faryal said the prenuptial agreement she signed before saying "I do” had been torn up by the boxer when she fell pregnant with their daughter, Lamaisah.

“Amir picked me because he fell in love with me,” the model said last December.

But after falling pregnant with their daughter Lamaisah, who is now two-years-old, the British boxer cancelled the agreement.

A spokesperson for the pair is yet to comment on the astonishing situation
