What are living expenses looking like? Bare minimum how much are you spending a month to get by only counting mandatory bills? Also $15 an hour but how many hours weekly?

Stop that:ufdup:
How your credit score and usage?
If it's decent you could get a 0 apr and transfer the balance, that way it stops the interest incurring while you're paying it off.

Just paid off all my debt :banderas:this WFH really let me get serious about knocking off debt I acquired in late 19/early 20
That feeling is :ahh:

We popping champagne today to celebrate

Buying the bottles on debit, not credit :whoa:

Brehs, get as aggressive as you financially can and knock out your debt. You can then focus on savings and investments with peace of mind.

I currently have a $283 loan balance on my 401K. It’s currently being paid back via payroll deduction at $30/month, So it would be paid back in full in about 10 months. I’m wondering if I should just dip into the savings and pay that shyt off now or let that shyt ride until it’s paid off via payroll :patrice:

Just pay it off. It'll be another debt line item you can cross off.

For those who have debt problems - I was in your shoe. I feel your pain.

if you got bad debts then i would sell everything till I go debt free.

sell your Js. you don't need 15 different hoop shoes. Sorry your 11s, 5s, 1s gotta go. Yes. it gotta go.

sell your xbox, ps4s. you too old for playing video games. you got a time for video games?

use that time to make money or learn the investing game.

sell your watch. who needs a watch?

No more cable TV. Just stream everything and maybe have Netflix.

You got a car payment? sell your car. buy a beater or at least buy a civic or elantra. buy something dirt cheap to maintain.

You don't need a new phone every other year.

sell everything you don't need. Look around you and ask yourself if you need those possessions. If you don't need them, then you can sell.

Trust me, if you start doing that then it changes who you are. it makes you stop buying. it makes you stop spending.

Also try to save at least $$300-500 on food monthly. Yes, you can do that if you are smart about it.

Use coupons
Shoppers using CPG coupons saved an average of $30 a week (or $1,560 a year) to $50 a week (or $2,600 a year), depending on their level of coupon involvement. According to labor statistics, the average household in the U.S. has revenues of $41,600 a year. The average annual raise is three percent, or $1,248.
Why It Pays Off to Use Coupons.

Learn how to cook. Learn how to cook wisely. Don't make a dinner for 6 people when it's just 4. You love pizza? don't be eating $35 pizza. You like filet mignon? Eat sirloin. Wanna cook Oxe tail? just make pot roast.

Change your lifestyle. become a financial minimalist. I ain't saying stay home and do nothing. Take your lady to a hiking. Go have fun in nature.

start investing every penny you got.

Nobody ever says you're too old to watch a film. You're too old to listen to music. You're too old to listen to talk radio. You're too old to watch TV. Just because mainstream video games as a form of media go back less than 50 years that doesn't mean people are too old to play them.

i play video games because i can afford to play. for me time is money. :manny:

but if a nikka got a debt problem and he still plays video games? that's on his lazy ass. and i'm talking about nikkas who were in my situation when i was in 20s. just a big dark cloud hanging over my head constantly bring a nikka down. i mean it was a helpless feeling. it was no fun constantly worrying about shyt. my debt grew, but income didn't. but i kept the same life style. i was stupid and immature.

i'll always tell young nikkas to get back to work. work hard at it. it's time to make a sacrifice and set the priority straight. ain't no time to play around. they can always play games later.

Having a debt problem isn't a lazy problem it's a resource management and self discipline problem. It doesn't really matter how hard you work when it comes to debt. It matters how you manage the money you have coming it and how you're able to live within your means.

I don't feel like selling all your stuff is really even needed. When I got my debt under control I sold almost nothing. I just reduced my spending where I could, consolidated all my debt on a credit union loan and over 3 years paid it off. From there I instituted a policy that says if I don't have the money in the bank to pay it off right now don't buy it.

The real problem is most people live at the edge of what they can afford. If they get more money they increase their standard of living until they reach that same edge.
