Due to seeing my mom being absolutely horrible with money, I just pretty much did the opposite of her & became an obsessive saver.
The only debt I really had was a student loan. It was somewhere between 14-16k. I don't really remember the exact amount, because for the longest I would just pay the minimum amount & not even want to look at it. I did that for 2 1/2 years. I eventually got a job in sales. I absolutely hated it, but zoned out, focused on maximizing my commission checks, working a lot of OT, & was able to pay it off in a year & a half at the job.
Basically what I want to add to this thread is if you want to pay off your loan extremely fast, get a sales job. It's definitely not for everyone, but it's one of those jobs where you can make a lot of money quickly
Even after I graduated college, I was stuck doing lower tier jobs for 2 1/2 years just making an hourly. There's no way I would have been able to pay it off that fast.
