do people still celebrate holidays?
only the very religious probably
i used the phrasing of celebrating thanksgiving but its moreso "celebrating this day off"
do people still celebrate holidays?
I'm legit dreading dealing with family and hoping I don't curse or snap on anyone today. I just don't have time for no fake shyt anymore
I was saying you specifically.i dont think this is true
who supports pilgrims here
Here in your OP in this sentence, it came off to me as indifferent towards the indigenous people. What exactly was the "and shyt" referring to in this sentence? You listed the pilgrims who else was involved is the "and shyt" part referring to exactly?Almost no one out here cares about the pilgrims and shyt.
It's nothing wrong with enjoying your day but not at the expense of others' historical misfortune. This the same logic cacs use to defend racist ideologies. "it was a long time ago no one really cares it's just history."Enjoying the day doesnt mean that you're celebrating how the native americans were treated. You can express disdain with that without being miserable
These people been shytty their whole lives and enjoy drama. I refuse to play nice with people I dont like and or respect anymore. I'm going to eat my food then get the hell on.can these issues be addressed with them or is it too late?

I'm not sure all Americans are aware of the bold. Especially with the herd mentality of getting along to go along. I think most are ignorant. I remember as a kid seeing picture books with the native Americans and pilgrims cheesing and hugged up smiling at one another.then it came off wrong
it was meant to read as "no one cares about the pilgrims contributions to society and laying the foundation of america"
we are all aware of the blankets with smallpox/measles and diseases brought to the indigenous people and how they were otherwise mistreated and robbed of their lands
its totally beyond my comprehension that anyone remotely respectable celebrates that aspect of the holiday but they are assuredly out there
not once has it crossed my mind to be thankful for pilgrims in this specific instance whatsoever
