I hate attending my own family’s functions so I can’t imagine the horror of attending a family I don’t give a fukk about.
My advice and this is what i do is only go to really important functions like weddings, funerals, christenings. Those happen rarely and if she doesn’t like it, then so be it.

Do I enjoy small talk? No, but is it asking much too much to pretend you give a shyt at your lady’s family functions? Of course not.
You’ll probably have to see them at most a few times a year. I can’t understand how any one can be in a serious relationship and not expect to meet their potential in laws once in a while. No one’s asking you to give a speech naked in front of strangers. Just shoot the shyt and keep it moving.
