Prove otherwise brah. Espn is losing $12m a year on the LHN(Thanks for TAMU, Miz and the SECN). TAMU is cleaning up in recruiting. Why? Because they play in the SEC. Look at the draft numbers the SEC dominates. I know it sucks being in the 3rd best conference with a mediocre coach but SC will bounce back once UCLA, Zona and Oregon fall off.
Yeah, you sound like a dumbass

when it comes to recruiting, strong is going up against tcu, baylor, and a&m.

those other schools are getting superstar athletes too.
It comes down to coaching though. You can't recruit at Texas like you did at Louisville. This isn't Kentucky. If you're coaching at Texas, having Florida recruits is a bonus. Just as much as California or Louisiana or even Ohio. But you have a talented luxury that most schools do not have to go along with you being a traditional powerhouse and blue blood to the likes that TCU and Baylor will never be. You get a coach that understands Texas high school football and connects with the coaching, and Texas will go back to dominating the state.

That's where you can say Mack did correct when he first got there. For years, Texas coaches alienated the talent and coaching at the HS level in that state. Mack Brown knew what he needed to do and thus turn a program that was down for 15 years into a top 5 program for the next decade.

Over before it started...

A&M and TCU...and Baylor are cutting into UT recruits now...something Mack never really had to worry about...

That's a plus to coaches and recruits .
UF is in the southeast where 90% of elite players live. Texas has texas and LA. UF has Florida, Georgia Alabama, nc, sc, etc.
The LHN only shows texas and is a dud. The SECN is valued at 4.4B and shows how great the sec is. Look at the nfl draft bruh.
Texas also has Arkansas, the rest of the Big 12, schools like Arizona and Arizona State who raids Texas as well. Not to mention that Texas is basically a state that has just as many people as Florida and Georgia combined. Let's also not mistake this. A&M going into the SEC has opened the SEC west into Texas. Alabama and the Mississippi schools are now going into Texas more than they ever could.

Charlie made the gamble of still recruiting South Florida when he took the Texas job. He took 5 Miami area kids and only 1 or 2 actually made it in. Those old Texas HS coaches couldn't wait for something like that to happen and once it did they pounced. All the sudden all the Texas recruiting sites had quotes for local coaches calling him out for overlooking their kids. Which is bullshyt but that's recruiting for you :yeshrug:

I'm rooting for the guy I really am, not just cause he's black but he really does care about his kids outside of football.

All that said, if those boosters push him out he be a god at Miami :lawd:

I think Strong probably gets fired after next year.

Somebody like Chad Morris would be a better fit because of the style of offense he runs.

- proximity to elite talent
- huge fanbase
- lots of boosters
- winning tradition
- big stadium
- top tier resources (although these days, TV contracts means everyone is building nice facilities)
- "visibility / brand"

its a cadillac institution

What winning tradition does Texas have over Florida? :mjlol:

I swear y'all nikkas just be saying shyt.

This is understated too. Remember they use to have Leonard Davis, Mike Williams, Derrick Dockery, etc? 2008 was the last time the had an OL drafted. Crazy

Yeah them early 00s to up when Vince was at QB they had some huge country nikkas on the OL's. Seems like Mack started going after some frat boy types Texas been soft like charmin for a while.
