I understand the disdain for bull like this, but honestly, should we keep the hood "the hood" or do we make it a respectable place for our kids and future generations... And not complain when the pale skins come in and fix it up and price us out...

the bolded is what shold of happened.
Not black people getting out of the hood to move to a lily white suburb all while the hood gets bought out and the people are displaced all the way out into the styx.
I wish there were more strongholds (economic, educational, cultural, etc) for black people in America.
Keep it respectable and make it an actual community, cause there's too much history in many of these areas for them to go kaput.

All these valley mofoz in Brooklyn ... Can't stand seeing these lame "trendy" cacs with their stares and fake smiles. As long if they don't touch bx I'm good. I kinda wish that the Yankees would relocate to another borough though. I hate coming back home from work on the 4 train filled with them..

Has New York City black population been decreasing overall??

IT's been decreasing.
The PR population has been decreasing too.

And it legit just feels like these new white transplants that are coming to NYC are just getting more and more racist too.
They treat black and spanish people and arabs and indians like aliens...
I can tell they coming from places where they ain't never seen a non-white person in real life.

In
Black population NY City
1980 25.23 %
1990 28.71 %
2000 26.59 %
2010 25.55 %
In that same period non-hispanic whites has decreased by nearly 20 %, Hispanics and Asians increased. "Foreign born" too, while black people have stayed the same.

In Brooklyn black people have increased as well in that period.

Lower east and Harlem is obviously where the major decrease has happened.

For some reason people like to think that Brooklyn was all black at some point in time, idk why.

Brooklyn
It's disgusting and exploitive but that's the nature of capitalism.

People in the US don't care about poverty.

Street artists complained that graffiti is art and should be treated as such.

People make a tour to look at street art

Street artists complain that it's not meant to be looked at

Yep. They aren't putting money into the neighborhood like that.
and if they do support local businesses, chances are it's another yuppie ran establishment for yuppie transplants that doesn't employ locals.

Yep, they will do that then turn around on social media trying to talk about social justice issues, racism, classism, poverty, and etc just to make themselves look good. Just like a lot of them had the black lives matter memes and dapl last year trying to make it look like they care and arent prejudiced. :stopitslime: that's all they can do. Also funny how a lot of them basically don't have real jobs or they are working some menial jobs with their parents funding them. They'll be fronting all up and down social media though as if people don't know what's up. All paying 1,000 for a closet living with 6 other people ready to look down on the natives of the neighborhood, acting arrogant with the other yuppies and hipsters while they look real stupid themselves on their fake shyt. They just bleed the community and ad nothing to it. Also funny how half or a majority of them end up moving out of NYC and go back to wherever they came from-broke, nothing to show for what they were doing in NYC in the first place and living with their parents or whatever. It's like they just go to NYC for a vacation for 2 to 5 years. Anybody leaving nyc with nothing to show for it or is basically in the gutter wasted their opportunity.

They are actually coming into the Bronx, fam. I can't stand them either.

But to me there's a difference between chopping it up with people to find the best graffiti or food spots in the hood and going as a group guided tour. It's almost zoo like
no doubt, but is it really different than those guided tours "of the stars" and all those other tours that major cities get?
they are visiting iconic areas, NYC, LA, Chi, they are filled with them.

ppl want to be in places where they are around known and iconic things. no different than OP moving to Brooklyn from Pittsburgh.

why?
he could have went to any other city in the world but he chose NYC. because it is iconic. The music, the buildings, the culture, tv, movies, etc. everyone feels like they know so much about NY already, its no wonder ppl want to go visit and see these same places/ppl IRL.

personally, I travel a lot, and I want to go see different places. Just as much as ppl want to see landmarks and well known things, they want to see the "authentic 'insert major city/country name here' "

When ppl go to London they do it, when they go to paris, Rome, etc. they do it. Ppl are naturally curious. As someone that has been travelling around the world and has been to over 20 countries and every continent I honestly don't see what's so bad here.

anyone here ever been to Africa? did you stay in the big cities or did you want to get out a bit and see some of the smaller villages and see how all types of ppl live? Go to Mexico and stay on the resorts? nah...ppl want to get out and view the ppl, the local cultures, etc.. Go to jamaica/ yea you want to go to Kingston and check out the local shyt right? of course. Asia?? same thing.

Honestly, the only ppl here that are making a big deal are ppl that just don't get out much and realize this is what happens, especially in major cities. In every major city there are guided tours that take you around to see everything from the major landmarks to the slums, and all the ppl in between. it's human curiosity.

It's ppl that think they have some type of ownership of their "city" (again, ironic coming from a transplant) that just annoy me.

he is no different than the rest of these hipster moving to the downtown spots, living their for a year then act like they are native to the city and feel like they now somehow have some kind of right to say what goes on there.

naw, fukk that.
