Not comparable MC's. Nas is primarily a lyricist, and in that sense he's >>>GFK. GFK is hard to define as a MC, but he has the GOAT catalog, and IMO has made the most enjoyable music to listen to in the history of hip hop.

As for my 2 cents in this particular thread, who you prefer aside, I think my stance is objectively sound.

I'm not the biggest Ghost fan but him being great is undeniable, I just don't think he's Mount Rushmore status which is what Nas is. Even for a rapper who's popularity has never been his strongest attribute he has been very successful sales wise all while being as critically acclaimed and influential as anybody who has ever grabbed a mic.

Me saying "Nas, hands down" looks significantly less crazy than reversing that statement with say a Redman, Big Boi, or even Ghost for that matter for all those reasons listed.

I agree with the bold because Nas is a more recognisable name...that's it.

But we're on a hip-hop forum, where people are familiar with anyone ranging from Nas/Jay to Spice-1 to some random on an island somewhere. Mt. Rushmore is all about recognisability so some MCs deserving of status will get shafted.

But that's not my outlook on things. I know both MCs and what they bring to the table. I pick Ghost. You pick Nas. Ain't mad at either choice.
