Please enlighten me as to what subject matter kills Ghost? Can you give me some creative songs where he hasn't robbed MCs of their original idea? If I was Pharoahe Monch right now I'd be sick to my stomach from seeing idea after idea taken by someone and then they claim they never knew about it. Motherfukker....you're from Queens as well
:russ:

I'd love to see Nas rapping like Ghost did on The Forest, Underwater, Beat the Clock, Child's Play and so on and so forth. Nas is a brilliant poet and he has that street stuff sown up. But he's not that creative nor captivating, at least relative to Ghost.

Awful example...

Ghost had the best verse on the song
:skip:

@Ayo!-BEZ I slander Nas because his stans are unbearable breh. Until they mellow down and learn there's some competition in this rap game, then idgaf. Well some of them, I know some are reasonable. Anyway Ghost top 2. Nas top 15.

And I stand by my statement about MC'ing...Ghost, Rebel INS, Raekwon and GZA are better MCs. Method Man is debatable.

Nas has songs where he spit a story backwards and from the view of a jail cell. The forest is creative but still just street shyt with cartoon characters. For every underwater there's an amongst kings... for every the sun there's a seeds of heaven. For every one there's a take it in blood. Nas is just as creative in his own way. When has ghost ever written a song like "what goes around" structure wise?

Gza is the only mc in Wu I would say is better lyrically, maybe deck. And nobody in Wu has the total package of nas.

I'm waiting

Never got the "Andre is way better than Big Boi" shyt. Although Andre is kinda obviously a better lyricist, I think listening to Big Boi is just as enjoyable.

How would you rate all Nas and Ghost albums:ohhh:

I don't think it is that obvious. Andre is more poetic. Big Boi more street savvy. Different approaches though overall I would give the slight edge to Andre.

Give me a minute I'll come back to an answer for the bold.

Ghost definitely has more versatility in track creation. Just because he hasn't done certain types of tracks, doesn't mean he CAN'T. Ghost is more inclined to push the envelope. Nas is creative but not relative to Ghost. It's not just the subject matter but the way it is developed. Even in the storytelling, I think Ghost is much better. Different approaches but Ghost really brings colour to the picture in ways no other MC can.

Well, I find poetic rappers really cool so:yeshrug:

Big Boi was better in Outkast's early days but Andre was the spotlight on Aquemini

More versatility? How? Only thing he has on nas is consistancy with beat choices and more deliveries (yell Ghost got annoying by 2006 though). And right now nas sounds a lot better than ghost.

Keep waiting. Your question is silly.

Artists are rated by their peaks, not their valleys.

Then Ice Cube is the undisputed GOAT

Flows and concepts

Ghost has a more varied discography than Nas

He uses more flows, but they're not better than nas's, especially now days. Concepts no. I can bring up concepts nas has done that Ghost hasnt. You're mixing up Ghost being abstract for concepts. More varied discography? In what way. Ghost been rapping over similarly styled samples since SC. If anything nas music from 94 to 2002 had more variation than ghosts discog.

I'm talking about the albums themselves

Ironman - typical Wu mid-90's solo....not much sense of direction but leaning towards an adaptation of OB4CL
Supreme Clientele - speaks for itself
Bulletproof Wallets/Pretty Toney - blend of R&B and hardcore street stuff, totally different sounds
FishScale - closest realisation of OB4CL with more broad songwriting concepts

and so on

and then the Twelve Reasons to Die series which are concept albums in the truest sense of the word

Ghostdini was a totally different entity all together

and nah I'm not talking about being abstract. I know Ghost can be abstract but that's neither here nor there.

Illmatic, IWW, I am, Nastradamus, Stillmatic The Lost Tapes and God's Son don't sound like each other either.

Didn't Ghost say 12 reasons wasn't even his idea?

Wait..... what? :laff:

Go wildly off-topic brehs :mjlol:

:francis: off-topic?

You said we should only concern ourselves with artists' peaks.

I'm using your logic to say in that case, Ice Cube would rank as the GOAT.

And besides your implication of Big Boi not having peak work is false because lest you forget he was a member of OutKast who have ATLiens and Aquemini. Then he released one of the best albums this decade with Sir Lucious. Better than any Nas album since like 2001/2.
