I agree. I really like Wu Block, and while it may have stronger tracks, its not as consistent as this effort. This effort is consistent all the way through, but thats because you have one producer...like in the old school days. Thats one of my problems with hip hop today. Rappers have to get a beat from 10 different producers to do an album and the shyt just dont flow properly. This is why probably my most heavily rotated album is Trophies. There are pros and cons. Of course with an album like Trophies it can run together and things can get monotonous. On this album, monotony works because its a story.
I am pissin in my pants waitin on the Brown Tape version.
sn: I have Venice Dawn and Something About April albums and while I liked the instrumentation...I wasnt digging it that much with singing. I thought he would sound much better underneath some hip hop. I think I was right.

Anyways...this album is supposed to be listened to like a audio novel. A nice, short crime novela. It's supposed to flow effortlessly and it worked out great. Ghost, the Wu guests and Venice Dawn did an excellent job. This is what a concept album is supposed to sound like. Concept albums aren't really done in hip hop anymore but this one was pulled off great. They chose the right MC for this project.

Also, I agree. Nowadays EVERY fukking album has like 20 tracks and each track is done by a different producer. I believe that's one of the MAIN reasons the last 10 years has not had as many classic albums as the 10 years previous.
