They are a defensive superteam. They got like all defensive guys at every position and even the guys they bring off the bench can defend like FVF, Ibaka and Powell. They really don't have a defender you can pick on. They rarely make mistakes and v. GS it's impossible not to and they found a way to limit mistakes.

The best defensive team I've ever seen. I used to think it was the Spurs that won the title v. Miami and that's still the best defensive team I've seen in the RS but this team is special special on D.

And just imagine if we had og anunoby

Absolutely not. Draymond is a very, very overrated individual defender but Siakam will never make 11 shots in a row (including one not even looking at the basket) again. Kerr is absolutely terrible at in game adjustments but he’s usually decent from game to game.
Siakam did this too the Hawks as well, he basically is a nightmare if you lack rim protection. His athleticism, body control, motor and speed is with his handles makes him such a tough matchup. The fact that he can defend 2-4 and some 5s makes him such a special player. V. Milwaukee, he had an extremely tough matchup. Middleton and Giannis have size, can defend, stronger and more physical than Siakam. It was just a tough matchup but Orlando and GS lack rim protection and it shows.

Philly has good players and rim protection as well. The east was pretty damn good this year in terms of playoffs teams. It is no surprise that this is a tough matchup. I feel like all three of the top seeds would give issues to GS in some way without Durant healthy

And gasol been to the conference finals and played in Olympic gold medal games against USA

Ibaka has been to the finals before and played against this gsw before

Fred van vleet a 4 year college senior who played in the ncaa title game

These guys ain’t scared

Exactly. I told my coworker, this was before the season started, if Toronto healthy they'll be in the finals due to their length defensively, and that hasn't changed. Adding Gasol was the cherry on the top too. Granted, it's ONE game and we know GSW will respond, but like we agree, this team ain't about to lie down and give GSW game 2.

Some points.

This is on Kerr. Why only 8 minutes for Boogie. Playing small is not a good idea. We need to see Bogut.
Make better in game adjustments GS.
14 turnovers by GS. That won't happen again
Curry with a real quiet 33. He got to the three throw line
I don't expect Siakam to go off like that again.
Gasol played well.

Siakam will continue to eat if GS continues to trap Kawhi. This game should be a huge confidence booster him, he was going at Dray with no hesitation gave him the WORK. Making him defens inside and out. Dray aint have to deal with that vs Portland..

Wouldn't be surprised if he dropped about 25 next game.

Boogie was a disaster out there. In fact he played him 6 mins too long

This potentially could be the best Finals ina decade though the 3-1 shyt despite my feelings about it was inarguably a great series and an infamous moment in professional basketball..

And I agree with the 2nd part of your post. We’re at the apex of this “reactionary, hot take era” and this thread, IG/Twitter are prime examples of this.. and I don’t see shyt changing anytime soon
Me and my wife said it this year that the east got all of the defensive teams and the Warriors finally gonna have to earn it this year.

The issue with doubling Kawhi is that you open up the flood gates and give all their other players a confidence boost. Toronto is a bad matchup for this warriors team without KD. Kerr messed up by playing Boogie so much in his first game back. Bogut should have been out there as a rim protector at least for a few minutes but Kerr gave him no burn at all. Their bench guys have to make shots too for them to even have a chance to winning without KD. People saying this is only game 1 don't kid yourself Raptors will make adjustments too they didn't have a perfect game by any means. Yes Siakam probably won't have a game like that again but Lowry might hit a few more 3s and not be in foul trouble and Kawhi might be more aggressive and attacking the double team right away or maybe swinging the ball around faster.

I think he'll drop 22 and 5 and disappear on defense. He won't be as good. Warriors will look at the tape.

He was fine until the last play. Kerr had no confidence in him and it showed.

I agree with those who feel game 2 is a must win for TOR. You have to take advantage of a hobbled GS squad without KD and Iguodala (allegedly).
