Warriors defense still been extremely suspect even with KD. Teams been getting whatever they wanted. They have to hope that he isn't a liability on defense.

One of the things that's interesting as well is that GS can't even get a stop after made baskets.

It's a lot easier to defend after a made basket when the opposing offense has to go against your set defense. Toronto is pushing after made baskets and scoring easily. It's absolutely incredible.

One of the biggest misconceptions about GS is that they were all offense but they were built as defensive team first and much of their offense comes from getting out in transition, pushing the pace after creating turnovers and missed shots. I do think if KD comes back, he can help their defense but how much can he give them?

KD, Steph, Klay typically score around 75 pts combined between the 3 of them and can make tough shots in the half court, but what amplified their offense was when they got defensive stops and hit those wide open transition 3s.

If the opposing team is scoring at will and not turning the ball over, then the challenge of stopping the Warriors comes down to sustaining focus in the half court (i.e. not getting lost on the screens) and not overreacting when they hit their share of contested 25ft 3s... because they'll miss there share as well. Raps have shown great poise in part because they know they can score anytime down even when GSW do go off.

The big shift for GSW will have to be on the defensive end.

OKC had a better, younger center in Adams, a younger and better version of Ibaka, a younger and better PG in prime Westbrook, and a better star in KD, who bytchslapped Kawhi right out the playoffs in the 2nd round that very postseason. Lol these Toronto Raptors would run the 2016 OKC squad out the gym. OKC was supremely talented but dumb as a box of rocks, very low basketball IQ team. That’s pretty evident by how they had GSW on the ropes do to sheer superior physicality and athleticism, and just blew it.

Adams can’t space the floor like Gasol nor is he the defensive presence Ibaka or Gasol are even at Gasol’s age. Russ is one of my favs but is a rock head, can’t shoot consistently, and KD in OKC wasn’t better than this current incarnation of Kawhi. Not as an overall player or leader, they run no system over there.

Toronto is a high IQ team with defensive stalwarts at damn near every position and they’re offensively efficient when clicking
