these is HIP HOP rules..each genre has its own rules...I'm tired of nikkas tryna taint the shyt..we ain't gonna have any resemblance of what made the genre great soon..cause of this fukkin passive attitude about everything...
Been saying this. And it's the new generation of hip hop listeners who are perpetuating this "whatever..as long as it's hot, I don't give a fukk" attitude. These nikkas don't give a fukk about what their favorite artists are doing as long as they can rock with the music.

Thing is i'm not a casual fan...not saying nikkas acting like it's the end of the world aren't overreacting but at the same time if you're really involved and invested into the culture like that, it's reasonable to feel a certain way about somebody not really being behind the bulk of their important records or just being a complete puppet.

I look at the shyt from the standpoint of a consumer, and I don't respect rappers just based on how well they package, or get packaged as product.

I'm not a casual fan either

nikka..YOU don't care..I do..i grew up wit this hip hop shyt..fukk u nikkas come from man?..ain't no standards in this shyt no more...how u gonna call a nikka a great RAPPER when he aint even writing his shyt?..that shyt don't even make no sense on a logical level...if u like the nikkas music that's one thing..calling him a great rapper is another...

I just can't wrap my head around this way of thinking

:what:

What should I care about other than rocking with music

LOL Yall keep believing all these codes of honor and rap rules if you want. This a business first and foremost. That idealism you have hasn't existed since the 80s.

I also think people are overestimating how many people have people edit/ provide a few lines here and there versus how many people have ALL of their stuff written by other people. Kanye clearly wrote a lot of the garbage ass lyrics he had on Yeezus. Dr Dre Puff or a Bow Wow don't write but who expects people with those personas to be spitters?

Rapping is an act man. Your delivery and vocals is the rapping part and the lyrics are just the content. You can be a great rapper and not a great writer. People that reduce rappers = lyricism are the most inept kind of music listener.

No..being a great rapper is having the whole package..not being better at one thing than the other..or just simply not doing the other..THAT'S what u cats have confused....those standards will filter out ALOT of the garbage nikkas that come out these days...like I said..if u get ur shyt written for u..that's fine...ur music may be the shyt...but u STILL ain't a great rapper at the end of the day...same goes for someone who nice at writing but can't flow or spit for shyt...u AINT a great rapper if U don't have all of those elements...son..u know how easy it is to recite a rhyme?..my son and my nephew be running around spittin Rakim rhymes word for word..and they only in 3rd grade...and that's real talk...u nikkas is legit tryna take the TALENT aspect out of this shyt on some "anybody can do it" shyt...it's not supposed to be like that...if u wanna be considered great at ur art anyway...

Good for u...but runnin around sayin "who cares" is like a spit in the face of nikkas who actually take the genre seriously...if u don't care..that's fine...do u..but there is legit reasons why other cats would care..

shock g wrote for pac in his early days.... Pac had a chorus writer on some songs 2
nikka damn near every rapper has nikkas write choruses...as far as the Shock G shyt..u gonna have to provide proof of that..other than that...Pac would make the chorus out of words that was said in his rhyme or some shyt similar to that...Pac wrote all of his prominent shyt...all of it...

You make it sound like tons of nikkas at the top are reciting other peoples lyrics. Call em out. Name some names.

No I didn't...I was just sayin that's not something to respect to nikkas runnin around sayin it don't matter...I'm sayin it does matter..

Oh ok. Agreed but that means this whole thread is pointless because it isn't like that on a mainstream level yet. This aint pop or rock music yet...
