Change is inevitable...
Then you don't chill in the city at all. Or get out much. This is textbook 20 something year old American young adult.I've been to NYC twice every yr for the past 8 yrs. try again dawg.
There are entire campuses of these girls. Entire offices of them. I know this because I study and have studied at these campuses and worked in these offices. These are my co-workers and my peers.
This is the partygoers of the Meat packing district, this is East Village, Greenpoint, West Village.
This is literally the average white girl and in many ways, the average girl in her 20's in NYC.
Of course for the purposes of the show the characters are tilted to various extremes. It's fiction. But all over this city and all over most major cities these characters all fit archetypes.
There are threads all over Higher Learning and TLR about college kids who major in the things they "liked" and are now coming to terms with the idea that what they like is either not in demand or does not pay well. That's Brian Willams daughter's character and Lena Dunhams character. Women who are not really sexually aware or live in a bubble. Lena Dunhams character and Shoshanna. Women who are are ignorant of various societal issues as well as racial issues. shyt that's all the characters on the show.
You said that no one you know in real life acts like that, which is cool, cause these are mostly fictional characters with bits and pieces of Lena Dunhams past mixed in and personally I would'nt want people like that in my circle either for obvious reasons.
But they do exist. The writing on the show this season thus far has been meh but there's a reason why people like this show (at least those who like me take it for what it's worth) as well as How to Make it in America.
While it is fictional, art imitates life. Childish Gambino fukking Lena Dunham is a HUGEEEE stretch though cause a young black republican would'nt spend his time fukking with a clueless, spoiled, fat broad from West Bumblefukk who moved to NYC to "live the dream" like so many aforementioned co-workers and peers. Not unless he was using her as as jump off. Which is a lot more realistic.

How haven't you?
