Vogel is a hell of a coach.
He isn't getting the credit he deserves. There's basically been zero issues since he got on board. Even with the new players they're working into the rotation this year there hasn't been any bytching or lack of effort. They already look like a well oiled machine too. It's been amazing.

Makes sense that he had the Pacers eating with minimal talent. His defensive mind is all over this team. LeBron finally got a coach

Bron is simply not the player he was three years ago. Then again, I didn't expect him to be as good as he was last year...but he's still on a clear decline from his 2012-2018 ultimate-peak. He's just trying to hold on to his broader 2005-202x general peak.

Like I said, small sample size but I would be shocked if Bron was better than KD this year.

What did he lose:jbhmm:

I was thinking that about him last year but then he started ramping up every month. By the time the stoppage happened back in March he was clearly the best player in the league. So iunno with Bron...he plays chess with the game alot. He'll purposely do stuff like not go for blocks he knows he can get cause he'd rather save it for when the stakes get higher. We prob won't know til the playoffs...

If his jumper isn't hot, he can't create his own shot as effectively when he's isolated against a good defender. At times you can see him tiring near the end of games if he's played long minutes. And he doesn't bring it as regularly every night.

But yeah, the playoffs are really the final determiner.

He's not going for the MVP, there's zero chance he'll win MVP playing just 32 minutes/game and shooting just 18 times. Bron's gonna finish the season with his most underwhelming stats since his rookie year. With all the shots that Schroeder/Trez/Kuzma/THT are taking, Bron probably won't even finish 1st-team All-NBA and might not even make 2nd-team.

1st-team forwards will probably be KD and Giannis.

2nd-team forwards will be a fight between Bron, Tatum, Kawhi, and AD.
spot on, i initially was gonna say that ad finished 1st team last season at center but thats more of a quirk of the voting system where voters were listing him as 1st team center because there wasnt a better option. if embiid and jokic keep up their pace theres no chance that happens this year. as of now youve got 5, maybe 6 guys off last year's all nba teams that dont seem likely to make a team this year and a lot more candidates than that right now having all nba caliber seasons.

as of now id expect the 2nd team forwards to be bron and tatum and it wouldnt be a slight but as a competitor you definitely take it as one to fuel you for the ultimate goal.

Vogel is a hell of a coach.

I had my doubts when we initially hired him. Mostly cuz I didn't know much about him other than his last 2 years in Indy. But he's had no controversy his entire tenure...helped clean up some of the shyt the last administration left behind. Hired excellent staff...doesn't get bossed around by the superstars but manages to still be a players coach. Runs experimental and sometimes questionable rotations but is great at managing minutes and had the right rotations come playoff time. Kind of just tinkers with what works for matchups. Doesn't force it at all. Isn't trying to implement some gimmicky systems...just wants every player on the floor to play mutha fukkin D. He balances the offense...can slow it down to a crawl and pound it in to AD...can run the muthafukkas off the floor with Lebron on some Showtime shyt...can have everyone start chuckin' 3s...Has nikkas like KCP and Kuz moving without the ball Like Reggie Miller...let's Trez get his Karl Malone on in the block...Lets THT & Schroeder get their Kevin Johnson on with the penetration... and is letting excellent passers like Gasol thread needles...and has players trying to clean up boards... Gets everyone their shots if they play the right way. He knows some of these players know how to play and let's them figure out what they feel comfortable doing, and plugs them in how they feel they are best utilized. It's a real modern way of coaching. He's not flashy or attention seeking like a lot of our previous coaches. Doesn't hurt that he's winning and got 2 of the best players in the world who are guarded, unselfish, & media trained. But you gotta tip your cap to Vogs. You couldn't have asked for a better coach for the entire time we've had him. I know they usually give it to some overacheiver so it's never a Lakers coach...but he should not be snubbed for Coach Of The Year this season.

AD legacy could take a major boost if he dominates a team like the Nets. Cause he'd likely be the best defender for KD as well. Not that KD wouldn't get his tho.

Give vogel his credit but don't forget the assistant coaches. The lakers got probably the best group of assistant coaches in the league. All them kats have coached teams to the playoffs and helped develop young talent.

Then you got a kat like Kidd who is a HOFer and been to multiple finals as a player.

That experience, intelligence and know how can't be duplicated.

Bron is really a whole chucker this season :mjlol:

dude is just jacking up fadeaways and threes

Man this the least amount of work he has ever had to do as a player. He is able to like MJ on those late 90s bulls championship teams. Shoot jumpers and post up to pace himself and save his body for the playoffs. Then if they need him take over he does in the 4th quarter.

With gasol and schroder being able to better spread the court and both being able to make entry passes to lebron in the post. Plus schroder/THT being able to take some of the ball handling duties. This allows lebron to florish playing off the ball at times like he did in miami and his first 2 years in the league.

It just takes a lot of pressure off lebron and allows him to conserve energy on the offensive end.
