Snoop was the biggest star on the planet 92-94.

Pac had the movie roles, hist 1st 2 albums, etc that was from 91-94, but Snoop was still the bigger star.

But Pac didn't become a mega-star until Me Against the World, and he was in prison at that point. That was around 95.

Snoop was still a star, but he had the murder case hanging over his head. He was kinda in limbo. Plus, East coast was really moving strong.

Biggie was becoming the biggest star at that point as a solo artist.

When Pac came to Death Row and blew up with All Eyez and got into that rivalry with Biggie/Bad Boy/Puff, Pac had eclipsed Snoop at that point.

When Makaveli dropped, Pac passed, and the bootlegs were circulating demonstrating how prolific Pac was, Pac was just on another level at that point. There was is no comparison between Pac and Snoop in that regard.

If we are talking bigger star when alive, I'd say Snoop for a longer period time. Pac for maybe 95, but definitely 96 until his death.

U had the most reasonable and un bias post

pac always had controversy and hype around him. it was like that for years before he even touched platinum.

i'll say that he started circling the wagon in '95, but snoop was still the man, and there were a few other names still ahead of pac in '95.

AEOM was when pac hit that level. and if i had to pin-point a moment when pac passed him up, it would prolly be when they did that "Americas most wanted" video. cuz like somebody said earlier, pac carried snoop on that song. and there was other stuff leading up to that, where snoop sounded like he lost it.

No he did not, it was equal footing at best.

What Snoop had in his favor was he was the face of a wildly controversial sub genre that Mainstream America was just wrapping their head around

California was still “new”
Death Row was new
The sound was new
The face was young & new

Pac really took a leap in 95 but there is no understating the fact that he wasn’t around to promote himself and his music which hurts. A number 1 album in jail was an entirely new feet so Pac was not hurting at all however
