what type of world do you nikkas live in where y’all expect people to stop using debit cards :dead:

some of y’all say the dumbest shyt sometimes
They’re right though.

if you get paid $1000 a month, it is smarter to pay that all on a credit card and pay it off with the cash immediately than to pay with a debit card.

Man I have to do it the same day - aint no way in hell I'm lumping all those charges together at the end of the month. My discipline ain't like that.

I'll have 5K balance :sadcam: with 5K in my checking :takedat:
You can do it daily. There’s nothing to say you can’t pay your credit card off 2 seconds after you put a charge on it.

Actually if you call your bank if you lose your card/hacked, they freeze the account right then & there.

Besides like other posters said, I check my accounts daily. So if their is any funny business going on, I'd catch asap.
And if you're on vacation, that becomes a problem. See where I'm going with this?

This happened to me last week while I was out of the country. I didn't even care.. I simply had the credit card company mail me a new card and reverse and charges that I didn't recognize. Took all but 5 mins of my time and I simply continued using one of my other cards. At no time was my actual money at risk or was I at risk of losing access to it.

lmao at using credit cards for day to day purchases, credit cards are for major purchases you can pay off over a few months

only reward points worth anything are if you fly a lot or have a business where you buy a lot of gas, like somebody who owns trucks

lmao at using the institutions money, you have to pay it it back, it doesn't make any difference if you buy with the debit card right there or pay it back at the end of the month you are still paying lmao

The only way to financial success is making more money, all credit does is put you in debt

When I used just my credit card, my credit score dropped almost 10 points. That ever happen to you wealthy folks?
Credit scores fluctuate all the time. It happens to us wealthy folks too.

Irrespective of nobody answering OPs question :skip:, people are saying use a credit card over a debit card so that you insulate yourself from fraudulent charges. If someone gets your debit card info and spends your money, shyt is gone. Good luck. Someone gets your credit card information and spends your institution's money, you dispute the charge. Link your checking to the credit card as a payment method and then pay down the transactions as they post - aka treat the credit card like it's a debit card. Only spend what you can afford. This isn't some disconnect between rich/poor or some weird ass black community infighting. If you couldn't afford to buy it with your debit card, you wouldn't buy it at all. Same applies to the credit card. If you don't have enough in your account to cover the charge, don't buy it :what:.

With how many apps are available these days to monitor your finances, nothing should be a surprise. Nobody can charge my card without me getting a notification. Matter of fact, you can't even slide me money without me knowing about it. Set up alerts. Look at your accounts frequently. Understand where your money goes and when. Use the internet to browse more than sports, hip hop, piff, and porn :skip:.

STOP USING DEBIT CARDS!!

basically.

if dudes have lousy credit or for w/e weird reason don’t believe in having credit/credit cards, then at least get a prepaid card for minimal exposure smdh

I use debit cards at the ATM for emergencies only so basically never at this point

If you carried a balance at your statement date, and that is reported to the credit agencies, your score could drop, depending on the balance relative to your overall credit card limits.

Who are you?

You can't even offer an intelligent response but I have the low IQ

you're an idiot

Credit accounts can be closed or the limits reduced at any time, like they did in 2009 and which they will freeze credit lines again soon

only broke people use credit

So making more money doesn't equal financial success lmao

but acquiring more debt is a better idea and I have low IQ

Stop being a fukking coward and just say I hurt your feelings, and you're mad at me for some post in the past

you're a grown man with the mind set of a child, kill yourself

So what’s the correct advice?

We live in a country where most people are obese… are dieticians just supposed to accept that most people aren’t going to stop eating unhealthy and don’t want to get out and exercise?

Edit: I have always thought like y’all thinking but I was hurting myself. Once you get caught up in the overdrafts it’s too stressful cause you looking at that looming zero balance. Wife be like “Hey let’s go out to eat” and you’re like:mjcry: in your soul.

Once those rewards stack up, you can feast on that. My BIL, get use his credit card for work and pay it back with the reimbursement. Him and his wife stay in Ruth Chris using nothing but gift card from reward points.

I don't think it's a right or wrong thing, just a matter of exercising preferences based on your personal situation. A credit card creates a bill for bills I already have to budget for, so I prefer to use the money I've allotted for those things.

I am also a person that will over spend when using a credit card so it's just not my preference and cash back or reward points don't excite me. Investments control your overall wealth or lack thereof, not using a credit card.

If my budget was tight to point I couldn't go out randomly to dinner, a credit card would be the last thing I'd rely on. LOL I'd sit my broke ass in the house and find something in the fridge.
