:dwillhuh:

Why... wouldn't I do this?
breh, sometimes I do not even remember my debit card PIN because I just do not use it.
Everything is paid with my credit cards and at the end of month, I pay it off automatically. I do not even look.
So when brehs are telling me they use debit cards, I am like for what?:dwillhuh:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
So how does the credit card company make money off of you then?
They don’t. They make their money off the merchant who pays the cc company a percent of every sale. That’s why every place doesn’t allow every card.

Also, the people smart enough and disciplined enough to do this, is the slim minority. So they still got the other 99% of fools to grab interest and late fees. And finally. They got decades to wait around for something bad to happen to you, you slip up, they give you more credit to the point you get greedy, etc etc

All it takes is one firing and your credit is fukked all the way up

I can’t believe this even has to be explained.

There’s absolutely no reason to use a debit card unless you are pulling cash out of your checking.

Using it for day to day purchases as opposed to a credit card leaves money / rewards on the table.

I don’t know a single person who uses a debit card
my credit bank requires me to use my debit card at least 10 times a month or I get charged.

You in the US? If so most banks give you multiple ways to avoid their monthly fees, whether it be tied to the average balance, or the amount of direct deposits you have going into it on a monthly basis.

Coli folks so damn uppity

we judging folks for using debit cards now
That’s not what’s going on, but that’s what people keep saying. I only use credit cards cause that’s works for me. It makes me stay on top of my spending. Some people use a debit card cause that works for them.

Going either way doesn’t make anybody stupid or a moron and it shouldn’t put people on a this side vs that side debate. But that’s where every discussion ends up these days.

Personally, I don’t even carry a debit card. And I don’t use one unless I just need cash from an ATM like some barbers just take cash. I do that to protect my bank account and cause I’m into stacking reward points. Last year, I bought Nest cameras for the house using my cash back. I’ve seen people take free vacations with the money they stack up.

One thing that’s not been mentioned is that if you work a job that reimburses you for travel and hotel, you would be crazy not to turn that reimbursement into cash back dollars with your credit card. That shyt racks up. I’m talking bout thousands a year in free money. (Throw that company card in the bushes)

Using a credit card isn’t a necessity, spending within your means is. IF you have the discipline to use a credit card, do so, otherwise there are products like debit cards.

There are also prepaid cards people can use for purchases where they think they might be at risk of fraud.

Amex has a pay over time feature for their charge cards. Not a stretch it would apply to the Centurion as well.

I got one.. You can roll over a specified amount with interest.. Anything over that amount you have to pay in full..

credit cards are for those who want to build credit or take advantage of rewards.. Debit cards are for those with already established credit and just want to pay for things and be done with it..

The point many are trying to make is that using a debit card makes it harder to recover your money in the case of fraud. Rewards are icing on the cake, but putting another barrier between someone and your money is the crux of the argument.

Exactly! Different strokes for different folks.

I can’t tell you why people are in here talking bout “These nikkas hating on using debit cards now :russ::lolbron::deadmanny:“ Other than they are more interested in clowning people than accepting different approaches.
