God of War: Ascension

My issue is with the sound. Lots of people are still saying the sound issues are present in the retail version and quite frankly, that's enough to deter me away from playing. It's shyt like no clang from sword blocks, no thumps and outright silent hit sounds that dull the experience.
No it's not a simple matter of if you have a good sound system, it's an actual issue with the game. The devs posted they were surprised by the issue and are said to be resolving it via a patch. Some sounds were outright missing, music was low and the sounds that do come out come out almost inaudible. It's very important in a cinematic game like this.
Hmm.... I was gonna wait until Friday to pick it up anyway but I'll go ahead and wait until its fixed and the patch is out there.
The thing is I'm not even sure if it's going to be fixed in a timely manner. I don't want to play the game and then a week or so later find out the game was updated to play better and I already played it.
i agree with @Fatboi1 ... the game is way to quiet.
also the game is so slow paced. there is no storyline. I'm going from A to B to C, for no reason.
3 hours in and only 1 cutscene that progresses the story.
i have not seen any human side of Kratos.
No mention of the family either. I think they forgot to add a plot to this game.
Shame, game plays flawless though. The graphics and i like the new grapple system against the beasts.
One thing i hate is lack of magic.
This one also has the problem of button mashing. I actually had fun playing God of War 1 - 3...this one is just mash mash mash, kill, more mashing after than, go to next section and repeat.
Kinda gets repetitive.
So far, the edge goes to GOWIII

I'm a God Of War addict, beat everything in god & titan mode...but an hour in of playing Ascencion and i got bored no lie. 
soundtrack and sound effects suck, graphics are unbelievable but what happened to the storyline? nothing draws you in at the beginning like the rest...

So what's the verdict? Is this a rental? I love GOW and I'm on Spring Break. This is my only chance to play.
