the whole metal gear not being an espionage game got me like :dro: :why: :scusthov:
Word not feeling that Raiden shyt at all...

That fakkit single-handedly destroyed MGS2 for me and I refuse to even acknowledge another MGS that features him...

This new Kratos joint got me skeptic though...They seem to have spent way too much time on the multiplayer which wasn't needed at all...It looks basura to me...

it looks like a grown mans version of Power Stone :blessed: open your mind abit and youll see that shyt will be heat

i trust the devs who make god of war, only one that didnt meet my expectations was chains of olympus and that was because it was too short/not enough gore/puzzles, god of war 3 grew on me despite the end of it (the whole "all you need is hope" spiel is :scusthov: but outside of that :ahh: )

:what:

No it doesn't. It just means I'm not hype enough to buy the game at full price.

60 isn't a lot of money, hell it takes 75 bucks to fill up my truck. That's not the point though. I've tried both games, and even with the multiplayer tacked on this, I can clearly see that for an action title that Rising's combat system is clearly superior what God of War offers. I'll eventually play it (maybe) for the story. But if I'm shelling out full price on a single player action title, it has to have a deep combat system... something that God of War never really had.

When I think of bargin bin I think of duke nukem forever and play station all stars.

Man, I refuse to think anyone who knows what's up with action games could have played that demo and say they're not feeling it.

I can see why these GOW stans would say that though... I mean it has the worst combat system out of all the legit action series (NG, DMC etc) and it always has been that way. So I'm not surprised...

NG2 was my favorite action game because of the gameplay and the combat system. Rising plays like that with the MGS presentation. Game will be a classic action title if they have the difficulty down right.

Preview: Β‘God of War: AscensionΒ’ Β– Chained To The Past

If you want to dodge in "God of War: Ascension," you'll have to flick the right analog stick as in previous entries in the series. I'm not sure why I thought that would change with the latest--although chronologically first--in Kratos' saga of revenge and making a graveyard of Olympus. "God of War" and its sequels have been so influential and vital to the character action game, it's hard to imagine the way the series handles making any kind of leaps and bounds in a new direction.

And yet, here we are, three years after "God of War III," and Kratos still has that ungainly, rolling dodge (even as Sony Santa Monica promises that they've worked in new animations to reflect a younger, more limber version of the character). My hands-on time with "God of War: Ascension" was disappointing because it felt like I was playing a bad game, it just felt like the roll-light-heavy attack combo was the same as it ever was in a series that really needs to start coming up with new ideas (and not just new set pieces).

It's a long read, click the link for the rest of the preview. I just can't get excited for a game that's been using the same dated gameplay/mechanics for countless games. Can't do it.

I play God of War for epic graphics and explosions :troll: God of War's combat may not be as crazy fluid as MGR but damn does GoW have some sick ass explosions and fights. Good thing we own PS3's. We can play both titles indiscriminately. :win:

215 Uptown!
Say brehs should I run through the 1st three before I play this or should I hop right into ascension?

Go out and cop that collection. shyt is only 40$ and gives u 1-3 along with the 2 psp prequels.

This game is the prequel to the prequels! :russ:

Anyway im not sure if im getting this. I mean the game is fukking beautiful (Might go down as the best looking game this gen) But i don't know if i can get jiggy playing another GoW game after the ending of GOW 3. I mean the story is one step over fanfiction at this point. He killed Zeus. I don't care what happens next(or before). He Killed Zeus. There is no more story after that. HE fukkING KILLED ZEUS!!

How about I hold your hand like this cookie cutter action series does with it's gameplay and drop some more quotes from that preview

:leon:

Hacking my way through a number of these grunts, I came to my first mid-boss, a Cyclops, in an encounter that's as old as the series. Roll away and dodge his attacks, land a couple of hits, repeat until you can trigger the grab QTE (UI for the button inputs has gotten a more world-appropriate overhaul, it seems). More grunts swarm into the level, and Kratos rides the Cyclops, bashing them back to hell, finally killing them all and executing the mid-boss.

What did I expect from a new "God of War?" I'm not going to pretend that hacking into enemies wasn't suitably visceral, but it's by this point overly familiar. I've spent the back half of the PS2 era and the entirety of the PS3 area getting familiar with Kratos' animation and the Santa Monica studios' bag of tricks. I find myself in the regrettable position of saying that it's right at (or beyond) the point of being stale. The opening actually feels like a step back from the expansive grandeur of the massive battle which opens "God of War III," a sign of the limited ambition on display here. We've written in the past about series that need to be put on the shelf for a while--Sony Santa Monica's designers and artists are old hands at the series at this point. Something tells me it's time for a "DmC"-style handoff to reinvigorate the series (also, I'd love to see what else Santa Monica can do), because as it stands, "Ascension" doesn't feel like it's ascending anywhere for the series.

Read again what you quoted nikka...

I didn't play the demo nor have i seen any gameplay footage...I simply ain't interested in no game that features a tranny cyborg as a playable character b...

GOW gameplay is dated and flawed, nobody will argue against that but that doesn't mean its not fun to play...The GOW franchise has always delivered a quality complete package and easily shytted on all them games you just mentioned....

:whew:

Good, that explains it then.

And great choice of words throwing "franchise" in there, cause you and I both know that if you put each of those game's best offering against whatever people regard as the best GOW game then it's not even close.
