Are you guys really that dense? :belip:

Rookies are paired with veterans all the time to help them learn the ropes. And given how toxic the lockeroom was at that point it'd make sense to protect a huge investment by keeping bad influences out of their ears. You all believe tons of other trash but reject an actually normal interview.

I'm still trying to grasp what he was saying that is so unbelievable. He never mentioned he was going to get a year long title run as Papa Shango he said the character was supposed to have a longer run. How many potential main event characters get jobbed out after being touted as the next big thing? Lord Tensai anyone?

About the NWO stuff he didn't put on that he was going to be Hogan/Hall/Nash status, just an enforcer. Pretty much what he was in the nation.

The Papa Shango return is believable. Vince has pulled back on a ton of pushes. Brodus Clay going from heel monster to dancing fool.

Lastly dude didn't say he taught the Rock everything he knows. Just that he looked out for him as a rookie.

Rock has never bad mouthed this cat. Don't see it starting now. Everyone knows his story from every angle. His book, Macho Man, Kurt Angle, Trish(basically turned her last run into a homage to his ways), Lita, Dudleyz, Foley, Jericho, Big Show(The air plane story), Austin...we've all gotten first hand shoot commentary on him.

Only people who don't give him credit are Kliq types. Shawn Michaels doesn't like to talk about the Rock and you can look that up. He FINALLY did after Summerslam 2005 when Hogan played him and he didn't get that win back. Then he was a Rock fan all of a sudden. Cripple H never gave him credit either UNTIL he came back recently and he turned into a groupie for him on his DVD:youngsabo:

Godfather must've been one cool ass dude in the locker room.

I'm still laughing at the roundtable discussion about the Attitude era with JR saying Godfather volunteered to sit in on a meeting with JR & Ahmed to protect JR (after the whole Goldust giving Ahmed mouth to mouth) :pachaha:

No reason to suspect he's lying about anything I'm a Rock fan as much as anyone else I don't think it's a stretch to believe it wasn't how he says. Why lie about it?

Why not believe everyone else? This story is prevalent in 2012. 15 fukking years later:laugh: How gullible does one have to be? It's like that kid who takes Kevin Nash's word as the gospel. It's absurd. And Godfather can read Vince's mind..we ALL KNOW the Rock was put into the Nation to succeed after a face run that didn't add up. That's nothing new.
