Why not believe everyone else? This story is prevalent in 2012. 15 fukking years later:laugh: How gullible does one have to be? It's like that kid who takes Kevin Nash's word as the gospel. It's absurd. And Godfather can read Vince's mind..we ALL KNOW the Rock was put into the Nation to succeed after a face run that didn't add up. That's nothing new.

I mean to be honest and I am not trying to troll you, guy said Vince put him in there because he was getting bad advice which jives with every other story out there from people saying they were telling Rock to do this or that and didn't want him to succeed.

And he was there, has no reason to lie and was asked this question. He didn't fillabuster and break out and just start talking about the Rock for no reason.

I don't think Godfather is lying at all.

I just think it's very clear why The Rock was turned heel and put in The Nation, and it had a lot more to do with putting him on the path to becoming a star than getting veteran guidance.

Again, if he really needed guidance from veterans, he wouldn't need to be put in a storyline wrestling stable to get it. Young wrestlers get guidance from veterans all the time without being placed in their storylines.

So my guess is that Godfather is seeing things from a slightly biased and unrealistic viewpoint there.

But hey, he seems like a good dude and I like the interview.

I'm still trying to grasp what he was saying that is so unbelievable. He never mentioned he was going to get a year long title run as Papa Shango he said the character was supposed to have a longer run. How many potential main event characters get jobbed out after being touted as the next big thing? Lord Tensai anyone?

About the NWO stuff he didn't put on that he was going to be Hogan/Hall/Nash status, just an enforcer. Pretty much what he was in the nation.

The Papa Shango return is believable. Vince has pulled back on a ton of pushes. Brodus Clay going from heel monster to dancing fool.

Lastly dude didn't say he taught the Rock everything he knows. Just that he looked out for him as a rookie.

Trying to see how nikkas aren't putting 2 and 2 together. He didn't take ANY credit for Rock blowing up. Didn't say he taught him the ropes. Didn't even say he gave him the eyebrow idea. Just said he and Ron were there as vets to keep Rock/Henry on the right path because they were long term investments and around negative influences. Not hard to believe and actually smart thinking on Vince's if you step back and don't think of it as 2012 Rock but 1997 rookie Rock.

Again, if he really needed guidance from veterans, he wouldn't need to be put in a storyline wrestling stable to get it. Young wrestlers get guidance from veterans all the time without being placed in their storylines.

I do agree that this is probably not the only or main reason Rock got put in the stable, but the benefit is definitely there. I think it would help a rookie WAY more being paired with 2 vets and working with them night in/out (house shows, ppvs, tv tapings, etc.) than getting advice here and there from them in the back.

Could've been killing two birds with one stone.
