FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core, GeForce GTX 960 2GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+, Graphite Series 230T Orange ATX Mid Tower - System Build - PCPartPicker Here's the list of parts I put together. (The price for everything went up to $1491 on Amazon, which is why I asked for $1500 in my campaign)
If you could switch some stuff out and get the price down, I'd appreciate it.
That's not bad, I haven't build around AMD in long time though.
-Drop the monitor for a cheaper one, a 24 inch monitor will suffice.
-That 8 core is power hog and it runs hot and not the best processor for editing, honestly Intel would be a better option but since AMD is cheaper, you should try to find an AMD Phenom. They are usually out of stock but check Ebay or Amazon. You can check for benchmarks and you will see that isn't the best processor.
-You can then drop the expensive CPU cooler or cut the price in half but with that processor, you would have probably needed a water cooler to keep that 8 core cool.
-You can drop the HDD and pull one from your old PC.
-960 is fine but I think you can drop the price and come down 2 generations or opt for a cheaper AMD or Nvidia card that is either refurbished or used on Ebay.
-Find a cheaper case
-Drop Windows 10 (free upgrade for windows 7) Or pirate W7 but you can find W7 keys for less than half the price.
-The onboard soundcard is usually just as good as the cheap ones you can buy separately. I don't even know if you will need a soundcard. (You will need an audiophiles perspective on this, I'm just trying to nice numbers off the total price)
-Take the mouse and keyboard you were using before or find a cheaper (wired) setup.
If you made this thread 2 months ago, I could have just shipped you a PC I wasn't using for free. lol
