We already know that Goldberg can't go more than 10 minutes. Is Lesnar going to come back with a squash match of his own?

i wouldn't put it past them.

i hate the fact that we can't just have big matches anymore. it's like a foregone conclusion now that every 'big time' match that's announced is just the first of a series and is gonna turn out meaningless. it's almost like we should have expected something like this.

No issues with the finish, if anything gives a bit of legitimacy that has been missing with kayfabe being non existent in this era. As this happens in Combat sports on a regular basis, why shouldn't it happen in wrestling.

Sidenote, it's always the heels that have to do the job on the quick squashes (HTM, Backlund, HHH, Lesnar etc, . Surely it would work better if the heel got a quick squash win to get them more heat.

I don't understand being so mad. What did someone sitting at home lose? $10? If you are online heavy then you are into NXT too so you lost maybe $5

If they paid $60 for ppv yeah be mad, if you went to the show and dropped $150-$500 especially if you're not local then yeah be very mad. If you watched this on your couch then stfu

Even in your second scenario, they just watched 3 hours of dope wrestling not including the pre-show. Goldberg / Lesnar was just a cherry on top at best compared to the rest of the PPV.

I wonder if some of the brehs are more upset that they were at the ready with gifs and slick talk but got denied their chance to clown Goldberg for blowing up quick or to complain about yet another Brock button mash Suplex session than they are about a finish none of us saw coming.

I dunno, I don't treat my opinion as fact I just don't see how that hurt Brock. A quick sudden duke is much more believable than any other clean scenario of Goldberg defeating Lesnar in 2016

Because thats the entire point of wrestling. Its 2016, everyone knows its for show. Huge buildup and a 30 second squash in legit combat sports is not a good thing. The one advantage of scripted "sports entertainment" is that you know they can provide more of a show and come up with something that isnt gonna feel like a let down. So no, thats stupid.

On top of that, theres nothing legit about Goldberg beating Lesnar in a fight, let alone destroying him with zero offense. Again, just dumb. If they were gonna do that as a "shock" they shouldve done it with some young talent with actual fight experience. That accomplishes something beyond the initial "WTF" moment. That they could try to sell as some sort of off the cuff "shoot" moment. Not a 50 year old with no fight experience and no wrestling experience in over a decade. Once the shock wears off here (it already has) reality sets in and it becomes apparent that this wasnt a good look for anyone in the company.
