Just appreciate greatness
Something that gets lost with Steph (and every great shooter it seems) is his off ball activity and the gravity he attracts. He's in constant motion which puts stress on a defense and consequently frees up everyone else on the court including himself.
He's about as good as a player can possibly be without the ball in their hands on offense, and it's important not to undersell that fact in an attempt to imply his workload doesn't have to be enormous for the Warriors to win so consistently
This is exactly my point. Even further, you can build any kind of team around Steph Curry. We've seen what he can do with a jump shooting team more or less, and that's get a championship.
If you were to build a team that was heavy on interior offense, Steph Curry would be a much needed role all the more to spread the floor and draw defenses out to him.
No matter what kind of team you can imagine to build up, with a shooter we've never seen before like Curry that also has a handle and vision both of which rivals some of the best in history in each of those regards, you have a great piece who defenses have to be very complete (and lucky) to account for. There is just not one game plan to stop him.
Everybody needs help, it is a team game after all. But Curry's skills are so great that he has the flexibility to fit on different teams, any team really. Which is why I said you can build around him, easier than with other greats.
For example, with somebody like Shaq, you put him on a team with players who can't shoot and his effectiveness takes a hit since all defenses would do is stack the paint. However put him with shooters and he gets to do what he does best. What if Jordan didn't have Rodman to defend Malone in the Finals or if no Pippen to defend Magic and other forwards? I can't fault Steph for having other good players on his team, same goes for other all-time greats.
With Curry you can defend his teammates, but you'd still have to worry about him being a threat carry games single-handedly. When you send resources to stop him, he'll find his team mates who are open.
