The last time major rule changes were made to the H1B lottery, denial rates went up to 25%. My old employer was furious because they got so many denials. They had no choice but to hire locally until those rules got rescinded a few years later.

I’m a 25B in the Army Reserves. Got that MOS three years ago thinking of a career change.

I thought, “all I need is my sec+ and I’ll be ballin!”

Three years later, I still haven’t got my sec+.

It crazy. I’m in Logisitics. I was in Erbil, Iraq for three months working. I had to borrow some parts from another program. I went and met the program manager. He was a brotha.

I went in the office and all the employees were black.

Only time I’ve here seen more than 50% black program overseas.

I got a degree in MIS, and I've NEVER been able to code for shyt. Never had any job in coding either. I've worked the majority of my adult life in healthcare. Not tech.

Some jobs are extremely safe though.

When I went into Electrical Engineering someone said it’s one of the best degrees to get because some fields are literally so in need of work they’ll hire convicted felons if you have an EE degree.
