My favorite movie. Had it on VHS and would watch it back to back whenever we had a hurricane and the cable went out. Never saw The Godfather. Tried watching it once but the shyt was just too long and I got bored. Will give it a chance in a few years when I'm old and washed

What i dont understand is why Jimmy was given so much power. Dude was complicit in the murder of Billy bats. Killed many mob connected figures just because he didnt want them snitching on him about the latanza heist. Dude had so kuch pull to where you would have thought he was an underboss for the mob, but he was only an affiliate he wasnt even made, nor was he Italian

Remember, the Lufthansa heist was his HIS lick. Except for Batts (who did they didn't figure Jimmy to be in on)
most of the people he killed were nobodies. Batts was big deal because he was Gambino made man.

I always wondered why Tommy got whacked for Billy Bats and not Jimmy, especially considering the fact that Jimmy had more of a motive to kill him since Bats wanted the business back that Jimmy took over when he was in jail. Only explanation I've seen is that Jimmy was an earner and made a lot of money for everybody while Tommy was too much of a hot head and they were looking for any decent excuse to kill him

I've seen a lot of people put Casino over Goodfellas and I just don't get it. Don't get me wrong, Casino is a great flick but it drags in certain parts, lacks the energy of Goodfellas and you really feel that three-hour running time. Goodfellas just flowed better imo and even though it was the same length as Casino the movie still flies by. I also think the focus on Goodfellas is the characters whereas with Casino Scorcese got caught up in the overall history of Vegas at the expense of the characters and as a result it's a much colder, more distant film, feels more like a documentary whereas Goodfellas is an actual character study. I do think it's hilarious though how Karen Hill was the ultimate simpette while Sam Rothstein was the ultimate simp. Goodfellas is a "Get Married Brehettes" cautionary tale while Casino is a "Get married Brehs" cautionary tale lol

Goodfellas and Casino are dope because their delivery is very digestible for the average person. When you watch movies like Goodfather it feels like you have to actually invest yourself in the film to be entertained.

I don't think Godfather is a crime film per se. It's more of a drama than anything. Godfather I and II are prob the best films of all time to me.

Goodfellas tho? Def the best crime film. Infinitely re-watchable.

Love A Bronx Tale. Its more of a coming of age flick more so than a hardcore gangster flick.
