Google's not earned the privilege to ask $999+, $799+ or $599+ for their laptops, phones or tablets.

At first, I was tempted to say that none of these phone manufacturers have no earned this right, but then thought about one of the biggest draw of smartphones these days: the camera. The top of the line point and shoot camera out there, the Sony RX100 line, cost just as much, if not more, than flagship phones, and obviously smartphones do a lot more than just take photos or record video. The RX100 doesn't even come with any internal storage. At least, you can get 128GB with the Pixel line, even though if it's going to be capable of taking RAW photos on top of recording 4k video, that shyt is going to fill up quick. Really too bad that the iPhone XS doesn't have the same photo taking capability of the Pixel phones, as 512GB is what appeals to me.

Anyway, as other posters have pointed out, though you're making software arguments, the hardware of these phones "justify" their prices.

it’s 2018 who is still trying to root a phone :what:

Your response is very telling. :sas2:

I need the ability to modify system files whenever I please, if you don't ; you don't.:yeshrug:

I need the ability firewall applications.

I need the ability to remove system apps i don't need and have no intention of using.

I need root to make more comprehensive backups and restores.

Sometimes i need to make cosmetic changes as well, changes that go beyond what manufacturers want users to be able to do.

search for "root" in the play store and see what type of functionalities requires root. Even Apples Jailbreak community is vibrant. There are millions of people who actually want more control over their phones since they now their device experience can be made better.

this isn’t something your average phone consumer is looking to or dosent have the time to sit down and do, android phones have all of these capabilities out of the gate now, it’s not like 2012 where you actually had to root the phone.

and nobody is risking voiding their warranty just because you want more total control over their phones.

I just watched that a hour ago..the dislikes portion..he murdered them..bashed that $1,000 price point...the notch..no headphone..the crybabies who use the pure android experience as a excuse to cover this phone the other 1,000 androids..basically said you can get pure experience with one plus 6t for half the money...lol@the 50% brightness looking so dark:laugh::laugh:

I went to the Google store and put the s9 in the trade in..it only took 270 off the 999 price:laugh: Robbery.

Yeah they can. Pixels have the best phone cameras on the market. The best version of Android. Very good specs and minimalist design that a lot of people like. Not to mention Google's support of them is great. I get updates for new versions of android like the day they are announced.

iPhones are DREADFULLY overrated especially now with $1100 a phone? For a STOPGAP VERSION? FOH Apple :camby:I'm still on my rooted Pixel 1. Never had an issue with calls (Verizon doe), still runs like a champion even with newer apps, photos are gorgeous.

Messaging isn't really a problem because I been using a 3rd party app since like Eclair or Froyo :manny:
