At first, I was tempted to say that none of these phone manufacturers have no earned this right, but then thought about one of the biggest draw of smartphones these days: the camera. The top of the line point and shoot camera out there, the Sony RX100 line, cost just as much, if not more, than flagship phones, and obviously smartphones do a lot more than just take photos or record video. The RX100 doesn't even come with any internal storage. At least, you can get 128GB with the Pixel line, even though if it's going to be capable of taking RAW photos on top of recording 4k video, that shyt is going to fill up quick. Really too bad that the iPhone XS doesn't have the same photo taking capability of the Pixel phones, as 512GB is what appeals to me.
Anyway, as other posters have pointed out, though you're making software arguments, the hardware of these phones "justify" their prices.

I'm still on my rooted Pixel 1. Never had an issue with calls (Verizon doe), still runs like a champion even with newer apps, photos are gorgeous.
