I'm 30 take three pills for hypertension and diabetes.

I had a food and drug addiction all through my 20's. Plus some genetic and environmental stuff. You aint eating healthy living in the Bronx and Philly all your life.

I'm 5' 9'' 165 pounds currently. I'm thinking my shyt can be reversed because I'm clan now, and now longer on the psych med that through my weight an blood sugar through the roof. A1C is usually 6.0-6.2

Isnt it possible to get rid of type 2 diabetes by eating healthier and exercising, or is that just a myth?
It's possible. Eating healthier can help manage it better. Exercise (heavy weight lifting) has the ability to change your body and the way it manages blood sugar dynamically.

I'm gone trust yall nikkas not to tell nobody on here who I clown on and not joke about it :francis:.

I been type 1 since I was 6 years old and I'm 30. I have no idea how I got it cause it don't run in my fam. I will say that my diet has been ok, I don't fukk round with sweets much but I have my sweet tooth days fasho.

Thing is, I have had at least bout 6 low sugar black outs in the past. Ain't happened in a while but then bytches are scary breh's. To the point where the ambulance had to come and shoot me sugar . A nikka wake up and get the seeing shyt differently, the whole house will literally look different to u. This happens before blacking out also, it's how I catch it most of the time.

I been a lot better with my shyt over the last 5 years. Best part bout my shyt though, is that I have NEVER had any bad tests for my organs or anything like that. All doctors tell me I'm perfectly healthy for my age and how long I have had it.

Take care of yourself breh, don't let it get worse and go to type 1.

Very scary.

Glad to hear you're doing okay with it breh.

Was researching on diabetes on here and found this thread. Was "diagnosed" diabetic on Thursday. I think it might be false but who knows since my dad is diabetic. I could see why tho because I do eat a lot of bread and sugar, which I'm definitely gonna cut down on no matter what. Also had high cholesterol which my mom suffers from. Didn't really have any symptoms like going to the bathroom often or feeling tired. Whole thing started cuz I would get this pain on my legs, like between my calves and ankles on the outer part when I would walk a lot and then go away with some rest. Might've been my shoes but I got new ones and it continued. Had a test of my veins done and everything was fine.

But my co-worker recommended me her doctor and I went for a visit. First time in like fifteen years, yeah I know. So with my family history, she recommended a blood test. So I was doing some research and they recommend fasting 8 hours before a blood test. I'm sure I fasted for at least 14 hours on mine. 9pm to 11am, but who knows if that affected anything.

So I went Thursday for the results and according to the test my glucose was 151 and something called ALT was 47 and range is (9-46). My hemogoblin a1c was 7.3.

Now I don't know if numbers could spike up like that suddenly or if there was seriously something wrong. I feel fine always. Unless stress causes diabetes but I don't think I have severe stress or anxiety.

Anyways she prescribes me metformin two a day and crestor. Plus vitamin d cuz she said that might be causing leg pain. Said take metformin for a week and then start crestor to see if any side effects. I got the meds yesterday and took the metformin. Then I took one again this morning. The doctor asked if I wanted a blood check machine and I said no, no need for that. She said to cut carbs and exercise which I try to do. Sitting at work doesn't help and even tho I have a stand up desk, that's not much either. So I'm talking to my parents today and they recommend getting a meter so I'll call the doctor on Monday for a script. But my mom's says I can't take metformin if my blood is low since it lowers it. She used a machine she has that she occasionally uses since she's prediabetic and it said I was at 84. I'm like how the hell I'm so low and the test said 151? But maybe that's just other factors.

Anyways I'll get a machine and test myself and not take the med if my blood sugar is fine. I don't mind cutting down or even out on the candy and junk food but I need protein in my life. Can't be depriving myself of nutrients. I like some vegetables and stuff like broccoli, cauliflower, quinoa, tuna, so I'm ok with eating healthy food but gotta have some balance. Gonna lose some weight as well but I'm pretty sure that my steadily increasing weight gain was some muscle also. Made a spreadsheet to track my measurements over the next six months to see what grows and what gets smaller.

I'll take better care of myself whether my diagnosis is a scam or not. Hardest part isn't being diabetic, it's the mental aspect of it. I'll see how it goes and then gotta go for blood work in September. Let's see what they tell me then. Cuz I'm in the belief that it's all a conspiracy by the food and medical companies to infect us and then make profits when we need meds. We do need to eat healthier, but ain't none of us own a food manufacturing plant. :martin:

I legit get this every now and then for no reason. Not a bruise or tight muscle. Just like a random kind of pain that sits on the outside of my right leg. I do eat a lot of ducking bread and drank pop a lot till acouple years ago.

Got me scared. My dad just got diagnosed as pre diabetic. But it really doesn’t run in my family at all.

Above the fray.

You can beat that shyt. Hopefully you bumping this thread with your diagnosis encourages a member here to change diet and lifestyle BEFORE he gets the same diagnosis.
Not a lot of things in life we have complete control of, but how we take care of our bodies is one of them.

Definitely go for follow up or second opinion checkup, but I don't think diagnosis is a scam. The scam is the prescriptions they may put your on for the rest of your life.

If you have a desk job, and a sedentary lifestyle, you can make minor changes that will have positive effect on health..like taking stairs to go to work and lunch.....and carving out one hour each week to go for a continuous walk.

good luck whatever the follow up test says.

Never understood why it's so hard for people to not eat sweets and not drink soda and sugary juices

Yep that's definitely believable if your diet was trash. Long gone are the days of not getting it til your 40s.

Luckily with good diet its very treatable, and even reversible if not too far developed.
isn't only type 1 reversible?
i'm not too well versed in diabetes,
which is fukked up considering my mom has it.
i need to inform myself more about this topic.

Carbs is what fukks you up.

Type 1 is not reversible, it's genetic and cannot be changed unless you alter your genome. Which is currently impossible.
