"passing 8 bills" is a ploy

Its a ploy a support, but its a talking point to bolster their stance of "we're doing work"

Until a deal is FINISHED, its all posturing.

Come on now...the point is to win the propaganda war, not to succumb to your own propaganda :francis:
Whatever you say Mr. Founder of Coli #Trumpset. :mjlol:

Y’all don’t get it. The money for the wall and the government being shut down are two separate issues

There’s nothing to negotiate here.

You make it sound so obvious. As if all the media outlets and trump himself arent associating the two.

I posted in the thread about this before. They used a machine to find the faults, fixing them is another matter altogether.

    • There's already aid for Puerto Rico and they've stopped him from using those funds for the Wall.

Another attempt at the already not enough aid money was made as early as 3 days ago
  • We're getting that regardless and it won't be with a Republican Senate or President anyway. So negotiating a bad faith, watered down bill with them is pointless.
This is a good point, the best I can see from it is being able to put these in place to weaken trump politically for 2020. Which is ultimately superficial.

However unless my eyes deceive me isnt Pelosi ACTUALLY making the negotiations you're disavowing here? Over immigration no less?

The Mueller Investigation has been going on this long. What do you think is gonna happen? They're gonna end it tomorrow?
I was given the impression of that with the hysteria of the barr and whitaker appointments. And the fact that dem were trying to pass bills to protect the investigation only a month or two ago.

The point is simply is and still is: The Wall is not about illegal immigration. It's about his investigation.

As opposed to all of you crying about immigration, how about you just tell your local Democrat to point out the truth. Trump is smokescreening and dragging this out as long as possible to avoid any legal ramifications. IOW, he's holding the gov't hostage, so he and his comrades don't go to jail.

I wasnt aware of this take. Idk how much a government shutdown at this stage of the game protects him. And from what? If the government is reopened will the impeachment begin right then?

If this Wall shyt is all in all just a bad faith "deal" underlying the intent of keeping the government shutdown to protect himself then give him an equally bad faith deal that pushes dem initiatives/helps impeachment.

I doubt senate republicans have the balls to be the ones to shoot down their god's wall. Theyre up for re-election too. Listen to yourself

And they've been replacing those pipes. I just gave you the links that said exactly that.

And yet, it hasn't happen.

He's already weakened politically.

No. You got links to prove that?

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

I wasnt aware of this take. Idk how much a government shutdown at this stage of the game protects him. And from what? If the government is reopened will the impeachment begin right then?

The media was talking about the Mueller investigation. Then for almost 3 weeks they were talking non-stop about the shutdown and the Wall. The FBI has already complained about how the shutdown is affecting them.

If this Wall shyt is all in all just a bad faith "deal" underlying the intent of keeping the government shutdown to protect himself then give him an equally bad faith deal that pushes dem initiatives/helps impeachment.

Why? What's the point of feigning that this hostage situation is actually a policy disagreement?

I doubt senate republicans have the balls to be the ones to shoot down their god's wall. Theyre up for re-election too. Listen to yourself

You think 800k gov't workers are gonna forget that this happened. You think McConnell openly refusing to open the gov't is gonna help the GOP's chances for reelection? Are you listening, to yourself?

All shutdowns are negotiated. ALL of them.

Trump set the tone. Democrats didn't counter-offer with anything outside of illegals.
no shyt. ...and why won't they pass legislation? :sas1:

Yall are being such Tier 0 thinkers :snoop:

...because negotiations aren't one-sided?

Do you know what the first two letters of DACA even are?

DEFERRED ACTION on childhood arrivals.

DACA is INHERENTLY TEMPORARY.

One more time for you in the back!!

Comprehensive immigration reform over DACA!!!!

Negotiations over a shutdown are dumb!!! At some point someone will say no and this is it! You trying to act like Pelosi not playing his dumb game of brinkmanship in a shutdown because others have is dumb and not the parameters itself.

Trump didn’t set any tone cause he had a Republican Congress who massages him into not doing anything. Once he lost that he went to whine about his wall and a caravan to his base.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform should be done by the government of both parties in an open government!!

The government shutdown has drawn domestic violence shelters to the brink, imperiling life-or-death services to women
An emergency funding patch late Friday provided a weeks-long reprieve, but as federal grants are threatened, nonprofit organizations prepare to cut critical services.

I keep hearing people say, "Never negotiate with a terrorist". I disagree, sometimes it is necessary. Negotiate with the terrorist, get what you want, then kill the terrorist afterwards. :yeshrug: Concede some money for the wall (and again even the 5.7 billion isn't enough to build the wall) in exchange for the end of the shutdown and key progressive platforms, then work your ass off to make sure Trump loses in 2020. It is what is is.
