I'm really trying to understand what makes DACA SO important. There are so many other issues worth bringing the Government to a grinding halt for and this takes precedence?

The legal immigration measures Trump is putting into play smack of nationalism and racism but DACA........I don't know. I understand their plight but life's not fair. They were born into a disadvantage based upon decisions their parents made and they may suffer for that. It sucks. But this being one of the major sticking points in negotiations to fund the Government? I can't rock with that.

If DACA is saved I want to see the Dems emboldened on other issues as well. Same energy.

Trump sucks for negotiating in bad faith though. Seems like he lured them in hinting DACA is something he'd negotiate and then pulled this shyt. I see both sides of the issue. I just think many Americans, especially black Americans, are tired of seeing politicians we overwhelmingly vote for battle to the death for fringe minority and special interest groups.

Nothing wrong with DACA/DREAM act.

Negroes talking about how bad DACA is for black workers tend to be like cacs who do the same thing: They weren't taking your jobs because you're broke and have no education. They're going to school, getting degrees, and taking jobs that you don't have the skills, education, or patience to do.

To me, the future of this country depends on stealing/attracting as many brilliant people from other countries as we possibly can. These cacs who are anti-DACA are the human trash who are underqualified to scan cheap goods at a Family Dollar. Don't be like them, brehs. Please.

The Dems gave them everything they wanted in the spending bill. Cuts to health care, spending towards the wall, etc. The only thing they wanted to add was DACA because it expires in March and there was no way that McConnel was going to push legislation for it. So what the GOP did was let CHIP expire last year and dangle it as a hostage so then things could be framed as "Illegal immigrants vs Dying Children."

Let's not forgot that this is the same GOP that obstructed the political process for years and engineered their own shutdown to kill something that was already a law. Plus, they didn't involve the Dems at all in the tax bill. So they were basically forced to play it like this. Not to mention Trump flip-flopping and just being an outright dufus on any and every negotiation from both sides of the aisle. And let's also not forget that 5 Republicans voted against the bill so it wouldn't have passed anyway.

I get what people are saying but this isn't a Us vs. Them scenario. We can criticize the Dems for not doing enough for black people or other stupid shyt they do but letting the GOP play it like this isn't going to change things. I mean if it played out the way some here want the government would still be open (not really because of the 5 GOP senators) but you'd have the Trump admin attempting to deport 3 million people from all walks of life. shyt like that would bring fukkery on another level.
