Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer defended Democrats who voted for a government funding bill that didn't include protections for Dreamers, saying the party cut the best deal it could and added "We’re doing everything we can - but what people have to understand is, we don’t have a magic wand."

"If we became the majority next year, if the House becomes the majority, we will get Dreamers," Schumer said.

damn this is unfortunate man. It sucks knowing you’re in danger of being deported when you have your whole life in this country. Seriously, if I was a dreamer and successful I’d take my fam elsewhere to a country that would need my skills and I can make money. The United States doesn’t care about what they do to people who aren’t white. This shyt is disheartening brehs.

If DACA gets done, Dems can take credit...if it doesn't, Repubs get blamed. If y'all still mad at Dems in March, y'all missing the point.
The polls are blaming the Democrats and Trump

The GOP is only being blamed by the Democrats

This equation does not work out in the Dems favor

The polls split the option between A) Trump B) GOP and C) Dems

It's mathematically improbable for any of these poll results to blame Trump and the GOP.

In the poll, 39 percent of Americans said Democrats deserve the lion's share of blame for the shutdown, with 38 percent blaming Trump. Just 18 percent said most of the blame lies with congressional Republicans, who control both chambers of Congress.
Poll: Public blames Dem lawmakers, Trump for shutdown

That's what I just said, it's mathematically improbable to blame Trump and the GOP in the same poll.

Look at the splits: 38 blame Trump, 18 blame the GOP, 39 blame Dems.

Wouldn't the 38 blaming Trump also blame the GOP and vice versa? Is Tom Cotton not part of the GOP? Is Trump somehow not getting his policy directives from GOP congressmen?

The split option creates a bias. 56% of pollsters blame Trump and the GOP, while 39% blame the Dems. Trumps approval rating is what ~35%?

Do I need to explain this further? :skip:

There are a lot of people who are Republicans but not Trump supporters.

And there are also those who view themselves as Trump supporters but not necessarily support the GOP party as a whole because they are 'part of the swamp Trump needs to drain'.

Naturally, Democrats see them all the same:russ:

62 million people voted for Trump. If you voted for Trump, you are a Trump supporter until otherwise noted.

And there are also those who view themselves as Trump supporters but not necessarily support the GOP party as a whole because they are 'part of the swamp Trump needs to drain'.

62million people voted for Trump. This idea that Trump supporters are a small minority of the population is false. The idea that we need to separate Trump loyalist from Republican loyalists is complete horseshyt considering: they both support austerity, they both suck at foreign intervention, neither group understands discriminatory housing, banking, or education policies, and they're both shyt ass hypocrites when it comes to political scandals.

No one who voted for Trump deserves the respect of being seen as an individual.
