I've been going purely off personal preference - what else really matters? :yeshrug:
I voted Black Moon over PE early on - because Enta Da Stage was just that important to me - but I can't justify that vote any other way.
Yeah I hear you, that's why it was such a hard choice. My favorite group of all time is Souls of Mischief but I wouldn't put them ahead of PE unless the poll said specifically who you like better...and I love PE.

So whoever came first is gonna own all the face-offs? Like it doesn't matter how much great music an act produced if the one they're against came before them?

exactly shyt makes no sense...epmd has 4 back to back albums production surpasses gm flash...but since they came 1st they win? :dahell:...most people voting for the furious five werent even around for their impact but they talking about they impact :wtb:

That's how big their impact was...people who weren't around during their run felt the impact. You just made a case for Flash and them.

Vanilla Ice came first but that doesn't make him better than Em. He had no impact in the Hip Hop community unlike Em.

Both Nas and Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five had immense impact on Hip hop whether anyone in the coli were able to feel the impact or acknowledge it.

Many in the coli weren't around when Jordan played but...

I was born in 1980 - I missed all of the GF&TFF's run. Still - if you were halfway interested in hip-hop in the 90s - the message was still getting played on the radio and we were taught about the importance of that record and GF and Melle Mel period. Their impact was still felt in the 90s. shyt - I remember seeing the video for hte message on California Music Channel - in the 90s.

It's true people shouldn't say people are better cause their first, but likewise shouldn't say people are better cause they came after. Melle Mel has rhyming and songs better than anyone in EPMD or affiliated. But whoever people choose cool cause EPMD aren't wack but acting like by far EPDM not down with that.

I think your bugging saying the opposite. The Message? Beatstreet Breakdown? These are some of the greatest Hip Hop songs of all time easy. EPMD don't have THAT level type songs.

:ohhh: he made the message & beatstreet breakdown? oh i change my mind now :shaq2:...nikka said "THAT LEVEL TYPE OF SONGS" :mindblown: epmd has classics upon classic and you bring up 2 fukking songs? :demonic:

That's Insanity. Only thing that hurts Cold Crush is a lack of actual material. They're like an incredible baller that never got a chance to play in the pros. Even still, Lost Boyz' greatness begins and ends inside one good album.

EPMD over F5, however, is not insanity. Because F5 did get that break, were being bypassed by Run-DMC and others by '84, and made lots of records nobody gives a shyt about from that point on. EPMD however made 4 classic albums in a row.

There's a bunch of those he/they did I'd take over any EPMD song, World War 3, Freedom, The King etc. But the thing you put the smiley to was that RHYMIN and SONGS better so what your saying now makes no sense lol. As that could just be the two songs I mentioned initially. The point was he can and has rhymed better than they ever have and have made songs on a level higher than they have, which he/they have. It's not dissing EPMD, hardly anyone has done what he/they have.

im sure very few of those anti-illmatic guys are participating in this tournament.

i wouldnt compare illmatic's impact to the furious five anyway. furious five was on another level impact-wise. but i see your point..........but the coli is too big to generalize all posters into the same boat.
