I thought GRDT was ass cheeks when it first came out. His rhyme skillz were garbarge, he mumbled when he rapped, and at a volume as low as Batman's voice sometimes. He had zero personality as a rapper too, no personality on the album or period. You gotta be more than a one dimensional tough guy. The production was dope as fukk, but that was it.

Not a hater, Many Men was ill, but it was overrated because of the Britney Spears marketing on steriods based on his "real thug" image, bein shot 9 times, and obviously the Em/Dre connect. It was the perfect storm for an album to be overrated outta this world.

Great beats though

lmao at 50 having zero personality.

Sometimes I wonder if you guys even understand this rap shyt. You'll say 50 has no personality, then tell us people are sleeping on the latest Cole project.

I don't know how some of y'all listen to this genre. Honestly.

thanks for putting the truth in bold my friend.

Yes... zero personality. Unless dissin people all the time counts to you. Anything outside of that, 50's personality was on some Tim Duncan wit a chip on his shoulder type sh!t.

ole actin like his rap presence bled through the album and came through the tv/radio interviews. If he wasn't dissin nobody he always exposed himself as a one trick pony.

Neva said anything bout Cole one way or another, don't get a single poster mixed up with your general experience in the Booth.

Album was a product of its time. The cold Aftermath sound was fresh for a bit and GRODT was really well produced. It didn't age too well though as mentioned in this thread. Partly due to the music, but I'd say partly because we got tired of hearing 50 Cent period. He didn't evolve as an artist and we got more sick of him with every album release.

Album isn't overrated though. It was worthy of its praise when it dropped. And nobody putting it up there with Illmatic and whatever nowadays to begin with.

Irrelevant to the issue of personality.

You really think a cat like this has no personality?

I see some posters on the Coli talking about Nas, Prodigy and 50 have no personality. and I'm just like :what:

I think some people just don't understand the Queens style of rhyming. It's conversational, sorta mellow but tough in its own way.

50 also has a very strong sense of humor. If he didn't have any personality on wax, Get Rich wouldn't have worked the magic it did.

We're here more than 10 years later still saying "Damn homie!!!! in HIGH SCHOOL you was THE MAN, HOMIE!" in the exact same cadence 50 said it. But somehow 50 has no personality and GRODT is overrated trash.

:deadmanny:
