Is Fried just pure garbage in the postseason? Breh has some atrocious numbers.

Told my sons that this would be the year that Judge would have a ridiculous playoff run yet nothing to show for it. Not sure this run erases the stench of previous runs from Judge for me personally.

Honestly this team had a lot of holes, more so than previous years. Didn't think they had a good run in them, would be nice to see a change in upper management but doubt it happens.

Volpe had a shyt run, dude just needs to hit .240 18hrs 70 rbis and play gold glove defence bat 9th.

"[Aaron Boone] is the one guy I would circle that has least to be to blame. He's got a lot of talent, but for me, personally, one of the worst constructions of a roster I’ve ever seen," Rodriguez said. "You have three left-handed catchers. You have five DHs. You have a first baseman in and out. It's just a very, very difficult hand for Boone."

"Aaron [Boone] did a good job," Jeter said. "He's working with what he has to work with, and he sticks up for his players. I know he takes a lot of heat. But look, I'm not saying it from any inside knowledge, but I’m pretty sure Aaron’s not the one that’s calling every move that they make throughout the game."

nobody fukks with Cashman :wow:

Volpe doesn’t have it in him to be even a decent hitter. Bat speed alone kills him. Dude can’t hit 94mph+

.569 OPS vs.LHP
-10 OAA (worst among LF's)
Played more games than ROY Nick Kurtz

But somehow got "screwed"

Jasson Dominguez's PR truly is elite
You have to let your prospects play consistently and find a steady spot in the lineup even if they struggle early. They’ve had no issue letting Volpe stink up the place every day for 3 years. There’s no justification for back to back years gluing him to the bench for Alex Verdugo and Trent Grisham when everyone knew each of them would be gone the following season and in Verdugo’s case couldn’t even stick on a team this year at all. Wells got to play all year while posting a .270 OBP and not even hitting his weight as well.

Gonna keep saying it: Worst hitter I’ve ever seen. He does literally nothing well and is terrible at everything. They really refused to include him in a package for Luis Castillo and then passed on 5 all star shortstops in favor of him while taking on $62 million worth of Josh Donaldson and IKF to stall for him :hhh:

Braves got similar offensive production from Nick Allen but at least he provided elite defense at SS.

You can not have Volpe, Mcmahon, Wells, and an unproven Martian in the same lineup. Martian deserves the same leash Volpe got at least for all of next year. He is 22 years old, missed a year of development to Covid, missed almost another year to TJS, and learning a new position. No denying he has looked atrocious against lefties and in LF. He has the athletic pedigree to be a capable defender and has shown flashes as a hitter. Very good chance he is a bust, but there is still hope. Also he doesn't have much trade value now, so just play him and see if he can break out. Spencer Jones is there as a safety net, in case Martian can't field.

Volpe is what he is, 3 years and getting worse. Dump him for some relief help to rebuild the pen.

On the bright side, hicks, DJ, Stroman, & Rizzo have come off the books. That’s $48 million in dead money this past season. Roughly 17% of the 2025 team’s payroll was spent on 2 guys who weren’t even on the team at any point and another 2 who got cut during the summer. Then another $27 million (roughly 8% of the payroll) was spent on a pitcher who was lost during spring training who should at be back for 60-70% of next season.

Then again the GM now is the same one who chose to get hicks, Rizzo, Stroman, & DJ instead of Snell, Harper, Olson/Freeman, & Machado :francis:
