The bold is hilarious, coming from the same guy that was okay not spending for Aaron fukking Judge. I'm not trying to hear this at all
This is why the Dominguez discourse is funny: Y'all are being dishonest. You said he should be getting “reps” because Cole and that other guy aren’t around, but you was ready to throw him out there in last year’s playoffs, at a position that you’re now telling us is not his “natural” position. Instead of seeing what's transpiring, ya get to gaslighting and excuse-making, very much like Cashman does with Volpe. Two peas of the same pod.
I’m tired of coddling these mid ass prospects. It took Roman Anthony 18 games to get acclimated to the majors. Tyler Soderstrom, with no innings of experience in the outfield at any level , becomes a GG finalist in the position that this so-called generational talent needs multiple years of “reps” for? Hilarious
I was ok with not spending for Judge because they're not gonna win with him doing what they're doing, not because I wanna save Hal money. As for the Yankees, they have proven that they don't care about playing guys in their natural positions. Ex-players have been saying this. We've seen them pull this crap even with Jazz and for who? For washed ass DJ. They wanna get younger and more athletic and the fans want a "real leadoff hitter" yet anytime someone gets on base in front of Judge, they never want them to run. That's why with Grisham they think they've even solved the leadoff spot. The Yankees don't practice what they preach.
We want them to develop players for 2 reasons:A lot of like the sound of developing players, but yall ain’t true believers.
Because if that’s the case, let’s give Volpe some grace, he played with a torn shoulder, he’s a GG winner and showed he could perform in the playoffs. Let’s bring up Vivas once again. Or do we pick and choose?
1. They're not gonna boost their payrolls to the levels we want them to.
2. Cashman having an inability and unwillingness to go that route while also not wanting to spend a premium for the upgrade is grounds for termination alone. So he doesn't wanna spend, doesn't wanna develop, so he takes the half measure of spending a little more to still wish on a star. And then he wonders why it always craps out on him.
