What's the difference between how KD played in this game and LeBron in Game 7 of the Finals that same year?

Bron shot poorly (9/24), was outplayed by Kyrie and Draymond, but still came out victorious because Klay and Steph only combined for 31 points and his running mate hit what is arguably the biggest shot in Finals history.

Besides, he and Westbrook had to get lucky three times (67-win Spurs, 73-win Warriors and then the Cavs), whilst Bron only had to have the dice roll in his favor just once which was the Finals.

I watched game 7 again Lebron couldnt buy a shot, but his assists (and KLoves rebounding) kept the Cavs in the game.

Suggesting that KD threw that game means he made his decision to purposely lose and leave at the point in the series where his team held a 3-2 lead and was thoroughly dominating a 73 win team.

That's one of the worst takes I've ever seen.
Not a 3-2 lead, they had a 3-1 lead. KD decided at that point I need to tank straight games so I can play on the warriors next season. :martin:

LeBron did everything else (hit the boards, played great defense, made plays with his passing), and he actually did hit some clutch shots.

IIRC, after JR hit a couple threes, LeBron hit one to keep the game close, then fooled Festus Ezeli into bumping him on a three-point try, then made all three free throws.

Edit: KD also was straight ass for the entirety of the final five minutes.

Nikka what?

LeBron did not play poorly. He shot 9 of 24 in a defensive oriented game that was decided 92-89 and nobody could hit down the stretch due to fatigue.

He had 27/11/11 with 2 steals and 3 blocks and he outscored Kyrie 11-to-5 in the 4th had The Block and iced the game at the FT line.
Thats another thing people. I already said I dont think Kobe played a bad game. However,....Pau was the best player on the floor that game. Kyrie hit the biggest shot, but wasnt the best player on the floor.

Yep. Bron played much better vs. the Warriors than KD.

I did acknowledge at least in terms of game score KD played slightly better than Bron in the finals the following year (30.3 to 29.6). However, it was a noticeable jump compared to the rest of his playoffs for KD. That was just Bron being Bron for him.

I'm starting to think the Cavs really did a terrible job not bringing in another forward that year (instead of just Korver for shooting) and the game plan was off. Should have attacked KD more since in GS offense it made life much easier for him compared to OKC. Still...kudos to him for taking it to the next level. Cause if he played like previous series...they might have been in trouble :patrice:

1. Warriors were considered a better team (although to be fair in terms of talent I think that Celtics team was better than the Lakers)
2. 3 shots does make a huge difference in terms of % (one is 25% the other is 38%)
3. He was coming off two of the GOAT performances in the finals.
4. His team came back from down 3-1

I dont look at it is as a bad performance from Kobe. I actually look at it as a lesson Bron should have learned from Kobe in 2010. Keep firing/attacking. He learned the hard lesson in 2011 when Dirk did the same thing.
This is a excuse. Shooting wise Lebron played bad like Kobe and had a teammates(Ron Artest/Kyrie) hit big shots. Both had double digit rebounds and contributed in other ways those game 7s. If The quality of the opponent was the difference maker, GSW wouldn’t have allowed the Cavs to come back in the first place, never mind them bricking a ton of shots in the 4th quarter themselves

This is my last memory of KD

Everything he's done with the Warriors has an asterisk for me

I was such a big fan too. Was rooting for him and OKC that year.

LeBron James Has Highest Finals PER Since Shaq In 2002

That was before game 7...
I'm sure it dipped quite a bit. Just saying with that level of play people were going to be a bit more forgiving.

I'm sure KD in 17 was at or near that level as well. So kudos to him.

KD intentionally lost that game. I never seen him play like that EVER. quick rushed shots, bad shots everything just seemed off. Then 3 weeks later the plan was completed.
You Bulls Stans starting to become worse than Bron Stans with the narratives y'all push to discredit the Warriors. I know the 2017 Warriors is the real GOAT team and would smoke the 96 Bulls in 5 but don't embarrass yourself by stooping that low to be a hater.
