I think you missed his point. You are addressing the FUTURE maufacture of guns. If there was a ban on guns, how would the government address the issue of the million of guns already out there? Do they go to all registered gun owners homes and collect them? Good luck with that.
A total gun ban may have been the solution many, many years ago. Now there are just too many guns out there. But before you get to that you have to actually succeed in actually banning them which will NEVER EVER HAPPEN IN THIS COUNTRY.
I grew up in Brooklyn, now live in Georgia. Let me tell you, states like
Georgia, Texas, Louisiana...are never going to allow it. As a matter of fact, over the last several years in Georgia, new laws have passed EXPANDING the areas where you can possess a firearm. Laws passed allowing you to carry guns in churches and parks. Pretty much in GA, the only places where you cannot carry guns are courthouses and the airport.
