I think you missed his point. You are addressing the FUTURE maufacture of guns. If there was a ban on guns, how would the government address the issue of the million of guns already out there? Do they go to all registered gun owners homes and collect them? Good luck with that.

A total gun ban may have been the solution many, many years ago. Now there are just too many guns out there. But before you get to that you have to actually succeed in actually banning them which will NEVER EVER HAPPEN IN THIS COUNTRY.

I grew up in Brooklyn, now live in Georgia. Let me tell you, states like
Georgia, Texas, Louisiana...are never going to allow it. As a matter of fact, over the last several years in Georgia, new laws have passed EXPANDING the areas where you can possess a firearm. Laws passed allowing you to carry guns in churches and parks. Pretty much in GA, the only places where you cannot carry guns are courthouses and the airport.

In Canada you can have guns but it takes a long time. Most of our gun violence is due to firearms which come from Detroit and Buffalo; speaking about Toronto. Now think about that for a second. Guns from Detroit and Buffalo are SO FREE FLOWING that they end up on the streets of TORONTO.

if they use drone attacks, so be it. if they decide at some point they want to turn their citizens into working slaves, having guns is better than having nothing.

if the US decided one day they wanted to take over canada for their oil reserves. would you prefer to have a complete unarmed population? or every citizen having means to defend themselves?

I said tax credits for buy back. All the idiots blowing thousands on guns I'm sure would rather lower their taxe rate or knock some years off their school taxes property taxes.
I have no issue with the Federal Government green glassing the South and Mid West.

Yes then I totally agree with you... if the United States one day totally dissolves into a futuristic crypto-slave state then I will have been wrong and it will have been better if everyone had assault rifles.

Similarly, if the United States somehow decided to invade Canada for its oil reserves, despite 2 hundred years of peaceful relations and this being probably the least likely country on earth for America to invade, then I would have been wrong about gun control.

But I think we both know the odds of those things happening are a little slim.

regardless, i've yet to hear one realistic way to disarm americans. if millions of handguns and assault rifles weren't already out there, your plan would be beautiful. but the guns are in the streets and already being used illegally. how are you going to take guns away from criminals who don't follow the law?

It's not about disarming Americans... it's about doing things right to fix a long term problem.

In Japan they worshiped the Emperor and believed it was their right to control the entire Pacific Ocean... A few wise public policy choices after the war later and they are one of the most peaceful countries on earth. It takes time but we can start now. Registration, licensing tests, monitoring of guns, ending gun shows, assault weapon bans, no more selling/buying weapons online, and strict laws against gun stores in heavily populated areas. This, in conjunction with education and advocacy will over time help solve the problem. No problem is solved overnight but overnights, problems are solved.

Well this country has a high population of unstable people who do not think twice about taking a life with a gun,because of that we should make it harder for those people to acquire guns to commit crime. There is no reason a person should be able to go out and buy an AR-15 legally.

i guarantee violent crime would decrease if this happened. how many criminals are going to run up on you if they know that you got that thing on you?

this is the only way to combat the out of control gun violence at this point. stricter gun laws/control do not work, it's already been proven.

banning guns would be absolutley insane. Criminals would find a wat to get guns and they would still shoot & kill people. What is the 70 year old lady gonna do, when some crazy MF is breakin in to her home? Do u expect her to fistfight him until the police come? Should we ban knives, should we ban cars? They both kill people

Crazy people will find ways to kill people. A MF can decise to hop in a big azz F-150 truck and plow into a busy sidewalk and kill 20 people by mowing them down. Unfortunatley, we live in a sick and violent world. These acts will continue to happen, and nobody has a clear cut answer as to how we can prevent this from happening.

The only alternative, is to make sure everybody can be strapped, if some shyt pops off, everybody at least has a fair chance to live. May of u don't know the helpless feelin of havin a gun in your face or bein shot at, but I do. All I could do is run and hope I didn't get hit. I was at the mercy of the shooter.
