Underrated post.

You can hide a lot of flaws behind fast rapping. Fast rapping is cool. There’s a time and place. But when you rap slower and more deliberate your strengths and weaknesses are each going to be more exposed.

And IMO it takes a lot of confidence to be a slow flow rapper like how Guru was.
:ohhh:I never thought bout it like that but makes sense.
Jay Electronica
Conway The Machine
I can think of others but it's more debatable.
Probably throw in Banks for sure

No doubt. I’d even throw in guys like Roc Marci, Ka, Earl, and Evidence.

And honestly I stole that logic from Evidence. He explained Ed it that way and it made me appreciate slower flow rappers in a different way.

Lemme know if the time code (26:20) doesn’t work. It’s short and to the point.

Roc Marciano is the slowest rapper I've ever heard.

Ghostface and raekwon (damn near all of the Wu) and nipsey hussle are other examples of slow flow rappers.

You gotta be a master lyricist like nas or a great story teller like Biggie though bc what's the point of listening to another man talk on the mic without rhyming some crazy shyt or using melodies :dame:

Elaborate
When done right (Twista, Kool G Rap, Tonedeff, BTNH, Phahroe Monch, Tech N9ne and Eminem AT TIMES), it can be done well and add to music. It's a skill like everything else. What I've noticed lately is young Eminem wannabe cac intetnet rappers (and clowns like Logic) use it because they have to, and it impresses the cac fan bases for some reason.
