I wish guru had a chance to first person explain.

whomever that goofie, solar was who sullened guru's name.

As there was a day.Where guru was on debut. The best rapper in the culture and in a weird period during the close of the golden era.
where rap had a. Street gateway still present as well. Where guru on debut was the best to them as well. Which not many did. Ever in that era past ll to the heavy mca era to krs, rakim, kane, slick Rick and then closing with guru in that order for an emcee in the golden era as a street gateway relevent artist on debut.
Then regarded as rhe best rapper for a short time amoung both circles of the culture to street/civilian.

How it ended for guru.
Looking at it from a strict hiphop cultural purist issues level.

Which always meant full expulsion.

Eliminating you from being mentioned.
It is a shame this brother.
let his legacy be viewed in this character of culturally damning light. As it gets hard to bring up.
what good said culturally violating artist.
presented to the industrial and cultural landscape at the time.

FACTS!

I've been saying this since back in the day. Gang Starr was a big deal for us, as kids. Classic after classic. But I never heard Guru's name being brought up in conversations and that bugged me out. Dude has a million classic songs and verses.

The first time I heard them was when Video Music Box played the remix for "Manifest". And I thought that sh*t was the most incredible joint ever! LOL!! Been a fan ever since. Seriously an untouchable duo. Music isn't made at a level as high as what Gang Starr was doing, anymore.
