Cole's an example too. Except the execution was botched. He brought about a certain fanbase on the mixtape circuit, but didn't really deliver that same type of music on the albums, and then stopped putting out mixtapes. Basically he had to cultivate an entirely new fanbase and in the process lost a lot of his steam.
You're wrong.

Cole has the same fans from day 1

Thread is stupid

Cosigns have always mattered in urban music

You could've made the same thread about Cole
Naw Cole ain't get a huge push from hov out the gate he did it on his own with his early tapes I remember it being a running joke saying u couldn't find a pic with hov and j Cole together lol

When Cole was struggling to make a hit before work out it seemed like he ain't have a major push from roc nation

Cole being the 1st artist of Rocnation is what made people take Cole serious At the time the warm up dropped

Your timeline is off and the Point is irrelevant. That was just some message board nonsense around the time Cole World Dropped

Of course but that doesn't take away from Drake (and his team).

Kanye wouldn't have been so big if he wasn't on the Roc. College Dropout was a classic but it wouldn't hit the same way to the public if he was on Rawkus.

Someone like Bryson Tiller would be even bigger if he was on OVO for example. Just how the game go.

He was killing all those mixtape tracks like Stuntin' and Ransom. He showed out on Birdman album and the Young Money compilation in '09. He was killing the rap joints on So Far Gone too like Ignant Shyt, Say What's Real, The Calm. The rumblings then was he was writing for Wayne. Also, he had Comeback Season and Room For Improvement out where he was spitting.

Whose making memorable hip hop music then? All them projects are 7.5's or better except Views. Y'all nikkas go through great lengths just to hate.

So Far Gone only has four listenable songs?
Thank Me Later was trash?
Take Care only has two songs worth listening to outside of the Weeknd tracks?
Nothing Was The Same was completely forgettable?

What does this make 95% of other nikkas albums then nowadays?

That nikka Drake has his finger prints all over 2010's hip hop from his own shyt to all the features he's done he's going to be eating way after he's done how is his discography weak? Say what you want about Drake not writing and hopping trends but right now he can do a concert or release an album of just b-sides and featured verses.

But I was told Drake don't stay on The Booth's mind and it's just his stans :lupe:

It's more like if you can't get anyone to listen to you or agree with you or take you seriously.... Start shytting on drake and at least you'll get the support of a few basement dwellers.

@hex and @10bands50bands100bandsQM

Made a complete posting career of it. Nobody knows them for anything else.

The Wayne cosign helped but I don't knock em for it

They gave him a crash course on how to try and blend in with urban black males

Anybody denying this is either white or just dumb

History books aint gonna be kind to Kirby. Deep down inside we all know his discography is weak, dated and only got by based on hype.

SFG only got like 4 jawns thats listenable to this day. Debut was Trash. Weeknd saved Take Care (only like 2 non abel influenced track that are hot) , NWTS forgettable, IYRTITL (scandal) , WATTBA (riding waves) , Views (weak pop shyt)
The history books of today will be written by the kids of this generation ala mid-late 90s babies/early 2000s babies, the same generations of hip hop listeners who worship drake and would beg to differ on his discography being weak, dated or based on hype.

So whether the booth likes it or not dude will be looked back on as the dude who had the longest, arguably most dominant run at the top and one of the biggest rappers of all time. Those history books will also remember SFG and TC as being classics :yeshrug:
