Ok.
What about Michael Jackson?
"The best advise that I would give them is it's a lot of hard work, and be prepared, because it's not all joy all the time."

Beyonce
“I worked so hard during my childhood to meet this goal: By the time I was 30 years old, I could do what I want. I’ve reached that. I feel very fortunate to be in that position. But I’ve sacrificed a lot of things, and I’ve worked harder than probably anyone I know, at least in the music industry. So I just have to remind myself that I deserve it,” Bey told GQ.

I could on and post many more people who enjoy what they do, but still work hard at it if you like.

bad examples breh, you know they literally had people around hem their whole lives making sure they did the right things to get where they are?

for god sakes Michael jackson already had 'made it' by age 5 before he could he understand he concept of' hard work'

BUT he now has that experience under his belt and can go at the next employer with some leverage. Hopefully that won't be the first or last program he ever develops but it may be the last program he ever develops that he doesn't have the rights too.

Breh learned the hard way. Hate it had to be him.....:mjcry:

Can't really blame people for thinking working until their heart stops is the way to go. It's what rich people have been telling non rich people for years as "how to get rich." Life is so much more than grinding to have STUFF. Make what you need, learn to invest it properly, don't keep up with the Jones' and enjoy your life. If you want more, find ways to get more without sacrificing your entire life to get it.

Interesting thread. I don't have the type of jobs a lot of you guys have but from what I've seen the hardest workers never move up. They'll just keep you there cause they know you'll work your ass off no matter what. The people that move up the fastest are the ones with the most personality or the ones with the most qualifications. I know people that work really hard daily but they're not giving their families the life they'd like them to have and they barely see them cause they're always working. Not trying to hate cause I envy that work ethic it just doesn't make sense.

This is really the direction I wanted to comment in, I see SO much of this amongst my close friends, peers, social circle, whatever…..I really think peoples relentless obsession with 'hard work', work in general and 'success' is so corrosive to a fulfilling life…but it's so endemic in our society, it's preached by teachers and bosses, CEO's and con men like Jordan Belfort, people think a tireless dedication to work is something to be proud of, not to say it isn't..but the degree to which I hear this in daily life as a justification for all things, or the sum total of ones life….Obviously for some people this is a non issue, but what I am referencing, and we ALL know people like this, is those who are strung out on work and 'business', to a point where it is an unhealthy fascination and addiction. And some are corporate and some work for themselves, but I think it derives from that mindset that if I can just WORK a little harder, or longer, I can make my way to the top too. Which, I think is a false promise and false advertising. And, say it isn't? Whats at the 'top'? Do we not see these CEO and the true wealthy capitalists of the country still locked into their schedule? Working harder and harder, for money they don't even come close to needing? People make 70 million in a year, and WORK THE NEXT YEAR…..That is just astonishing and somewhat sick to me, obviously there are exceptions….But I just see this so prevalently among my generation.

Work should be a means to an end, not an all consuming black hole, and you can't leverage ALL your todays for tomorrow.

This one nikka at work "grinded" his way out of a job.

He sprained his ankle in the breakroom at work and didnt tell the supervisor. The nikka came back out to the floor and continued to life heavy ass parts.

Somebody told that he sprained his ankle and the supervisor, manager & hr rep came out to the floor and watched him work for a half hour. nikka had pain all on his face and looked over and gave them a "thumbs up" and a :salute:.

When break came, he was called into the office and fired for not reporting the injury

America gets us f8cked because we think making a certain amount of money = success. I would rather make 50k a yr take vacations when ever I want and work no more than 30 hrs a week than to make 100k, always stressed, working 60-80 hrs a week, and can't take time away for myself because I have so many deadlines. People are "grinding" so they can consume some bull ish more so than working towards getting to a position where life is easy which can allow them to take the money they do make and do side hustles and invest which ultimately will increase their net worth.

Do you work currently? IF you do look at your manager or the cats that get promoted, I can promise you they usually aren't the smartest. When it comes to life you have to make moves that put you and your assets at least risk. If you want to work in corporate america make it where others around you do all the work while you can get the glory for it, if you are looking to pick up a trade/start a business, make it to where you are using others peoples capital to make money. You ever noticed the people that work 3 jobs, work 60 hrs, or are the best at their job always talk about how much they hate their job? Instead of spending 60 hrs a week to make 40k, why not cut back on your lifestyle and use the free time you have working 30-40 hrs and less to learn a skill that will net you the same money or more working less.
